Comment:

Without any prior knowledge of geology, I was able to easily pass this class. I would attend the lectures once a week and the rest of the work was given online. This meant I could do everything as soon as it opened up and finish quickly. None of the work was particularly hard and there are no Midterms and he was always available by email.

Comment:

Easy A as long as you complete the weekly online assignments and quizzes on time. Showed up for only 2 months, still got an A+. If you do ended up at lectures, sit at the front cause he doesn't project voice well. NO final or midterm. One extra credit opportunity. Concept sketches is where most students lost points so pay attention to rubric.

Comment:

Class only consist of online HW and quizzes. No in class quizzes and exams. Easy A+ as long as all homework is completed. Lectures are not mandatory but are extremely boring due to his monotone voice and seems like he is basically talking to his desktop.

Comment:

This was my favorite class this semester. Only one quiz due every friday a long with a couple little assignments. No midterms or finals, just one quiz a week. Also, attendance isn't mandatory, everything you need to know for the quiz is In the book. So easy to get an A+.

As someone who had no experience with paleontology I found this class really great! Lectures are interesting and all posted on blackboard. Labs are pretty long (usually took the full 3 hours) and involve lots of drawing but they were very well done and I learned a lot! No homework and tests are all open note/book.

As life evolved on Earth, Jack Farmer was there to make a concept sketch of each new species. He is said to have done his entire PhD thesis inside the porous wall of a sponge. You can learn much about Paleontology from him.

Comment:

Extremely knowledgeable about Paleontology. He will go out of his way to help any interested student and answer any questions. Field trips were a great time. The class was certainly more challenging than I expected, I learned a lot.

the class is well updated on space exploration only, because the guy works for NASA, but he does not care about the students and whether they learn or not. Many things he says in class are old stuff that he never read about recently, so outside his 'NASA' stuff he knows nothing, but don't tell him because he sees himself as god.

nice guy, very knowledgeable/interested in his subject. The tests are impossible, but there is a giant curve, or at least when I took the course. So just do the EC and quizzes, etc. and you should get an A/B

Boring class, Farmer thinks he is a Geological God. Just go to class, take decent notes, and do the EC to get a B or A.
