Comment:
Denniston is a really laid back guy and his lectures a pretty interesting. He uses good and applicable examples that you start to really see in everyday life so it helps facilitate learning, even outside of the classroom. I didn't read the textbook at all and that was a bad move on my part, so definitely do that.

Teaches through stories and examples. It worked really well for me and I learned A LOT. Have to pay attention and take notes though.

I didn't have the best experience with this teacher. He a cool professor, but the his teaching skills weren't to my expectations. He has a very draggy voice that makes you bored and his PowerPoints aren't the best for information so BE PREPARED to listen to his voice in class. Lastly, his surprised pop Quizzes didn't get me anywhere in the class because they usually were tricky and uninformed. Overall, not having him as a teacher again

Dr. Denniston is a really good professor. Information can be hard to grasp. However, he is always available to clarify information during office hours. Tests are very difficult. He gives an optional final, that can't hurt your grade. If you do better on this, he replaces previous test grades. Interesting class, but study hard!

Dr. D is honestly the best professor I've had the privilege of taking at App. The man is very intelligent and gives great real world examples. His tests are really not bad if you actually study for them and he'll help you on the side if you need it. Highly advise taking this course.

This class was great. I had a waiver ( No Stats or PSY3100 prereqs) and it was still do-able. It was over the summer so it was fast paced, but do-able if you study. He's not going to hand you an A but if you study and read what he says to, it's not bad. 3 tests, 3 assignments. He engages the class and gives lots of examples. I'd take him again.

Tests are hard but he gives an optional final! Pop quizzes he sometimes warns you about but the questions are easy to miss, leaving you with a 610

Very boring teacher. He assigns maybe 3-4 out of class assignments and the rest of your grades are tests. His class is very much a struggle and his power points are somewhat unclear. I would suggest taking another Psychology class if you can.

Dr. D is great! The class is incredibly easy if you supplement his lectures with the assigned readings- most people obviously didn't do the readings and were seriously struggling come exam time, while I was kickin back. Seriously awesome teacher- one of my favorite in the department

Great guy, very interesting to listen to. Clearly enjoys and is passionate about what he teaches. He clearly cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Tests are difficult and I found my self wondering where some questions came from. But assignments help buffer your grade. I would highly recommend him.

I love Dr. D. He is the kind of professor that involves you in his lectures which make them much more interesting. People keep saying his exams are difficult, but it's a 3000 level psych course. They aren't going to be a piece of cake! Study and you will do well.

Dr. Denniston is a good teacher, he is very hard. He reads off the slides, and gives good examples, but what you went over in class is nothing that is on the test. Super hard class.. AVIOD this teacher....

He tries to make the classes interesting and uses good examples. Although I found the class interesting the tests are killer. I read the book and only missed two classes and only made a B. Most of my class ended up with C's. Just be prepared to try very hard and not come away with an A.

Super boring material! Good professor but I would stay away from this class.... Waayyy too much material to cover in 3 exams. he's a nice guy...very helpful if you go to him during office hours. Still though--I completely regret taking the class--I read the book, came to class everyday, and did all of my study guides and am making a C :-(

Dr. Denniston is not a bad professor, but my gosh was the material boring. I have been conditioned to fall asleep when I hear "CS" and "US". Dr. Denniston knows his stuff and gives pretty good examples. I would avoid Principles though...
