I had her in the late 90's. One of the best. Yes, she is a hard grader. Takes as much time as you need to sit and review with you. Yes, she is nit-picky - welcome to the English language - it is not easy or consistent. I was open and engaged and learned SO much from her that is still with me 20 years later.

Although she can be a nice lady, she is an extremely hard grader. If you do not write the specific way that she wants, you will not get anything higher then a C. She is always right and everything you do is always wrong. I would NOT recommend taking her class.

Very confusing with trying to figure out what she wanted with her papers. Very difficult, nice lady but I would not suggest taking a class from her. Hard grader and it is nearly impossible to get anything above a C on her papers even if you are an average writer.

Janet is an awful teacher, one of my all-time worst teachers. All semester all we did was write/revise 3 friggin papers. The class is a complete waste of time, I learned nothing. I would not recommend her to anyone.

She was terrible! absolute worst teacher i have ever had! After she corrects your paper, and she helps you make the corrections she'll still rip apart your essay when you turn it in for a grade. So hard to understand what she wants...AVOID AT ALL COST!

One of the HARDEST CLASSES I have ever taken at B-W, I am now a Junior and I had her Fresh. year. She is a nice and understanding, although she is the HARDEST grader that I have ever come across. She is so picky about what she wants in your papers. Do it her way or don't waste your time. She is always willing to help. 1/2 of my class failed!

I loved her! i thought she was helpful, and always took the time outside class to help me with me work. she is understanding about late work AS LONG AS you are not a COMPLETE slacker... take her!!
