Comment:

Banner's class was simple. Show up, do the work and you'll be fine. Takes attendance everyday but you do not need to pay attention to the lecture in order to get a good grade. There is a ten page paper but is a fair grader. Weekly online blog post and 2 exams make his class fairly easy

Comment:

I took this class to meet elective requirements and I was expecting this class to be chill - COULD NOT BE MORE WORNG. there are FOUR text books required and yes, you have to read all of them in order to pass the class. The prof. assigned weekly discussions which is normal for an online class but I never had to read so much my whole life.

This class was a complete drag. It's not at all what it seems. Course description makes it seem like it will be an exciting course which could not be further from the truth. Would not recommend. If you find yourself being interested in the lecture you will definitely pass. Paper was very straightforward. He let's you pick topic.

Takes attendance everyday. His classes are odd, like Magic Ritual and Power, he knows his stuff. He literally knows everything about religions and respects them all. So nice and understands that students have lives and priorities besides his class. He will help you if he sees you help yourself.

If you want an easy grade, then I suggest taking this one. I just needed this class to fill a requirement, but ended up really enjoying it. If you just write down what he writes on the board and kind of listen, then it's an A on the exam. Also, if he offers two ways to write your paper, choose the first. I used Reddit and got an A. Just cited that.

Great guy! very nice and really loves what he does. teaches very well and is always willing to help. i really enjoyed the topic and the material in class. not too many assignments at all but attendance is a must which can be a drag. but i deff recommend him

He is really boring but theres only a midterm, final, and 5 pg paper due at the end of the semester. He takes attendance seriously and you cant talk in his class so all i did stay on my laptop otherwise I would fall asleep. Its not hard just boring. He also stresses lateness.

Awesome professor, he loves the subject and is super knowledgeable. Midterm, final, and 2 papers. Take notes, read, and you will do fine. Tests are only hard if you don't attend class. I am taking Dr. Banner next semester too! Take him:)

TAKE HIM!! Great guy and even better teacher, extremely helpful and caring. His class can be challenging but he does such a great job presenting the material that students can easily pass. Literally, one of the best professors I have ever had and one of the best classes I have ever taken!!

(ST: Historical Jesus & the DaVinci Code) Lecture heavy- lots of notetaking and homework reading. Midterm/Final identical and he gives you a list of topics to study. Study & you'll do ok. 1 Final group paper- bad idea. Tons of groups had problems with members not doing what they had to do etc- was flexible with due dates b/c of these issues.

I had him for a religion& politics class. The class was great.we had to read 3 books and a few packets, but most of the reading are simple. he nice. he gives you a study guide for everything that will be on the test. His test are very straight forward. Great professor and smart when it comes to religon

Gets offended by strong views against what he's found to be true, so no room for arguing from a 'faith' perspective, just facts from his perspective; find him to be an elitist and a tense man. Hard to be in class. May amend my comments by end of semester, just strong feelings half way through

I was never interested in taking religion before taking him, but his classes were great. Took all of them, and most of my friends did too. Still keep all my notes. He is just awesome!
