This was the most tedious class I have ever taken. It is not hard in complexity, it's just too much busywork. Although she's caring, I think she has an unrealistic expectation of work for the students. Would not recommend this class.

Literally don't take this class. She was very contradictory with her statements, none of the assignments were relevant, & genuinely just a bore. She'd constantly give feedback like "amazing job!" & then proceed to give you less than a 100%. Thank god this class was only one day per week instead of two. Oh, and don't buy the textbooks. Not worth it.

I felt as though I had to fight for my grade in her class, because her grading was so arbitrary. Some assignments I would get full points, and on others, not so much... The quality of my material was more or less the same, but it didn't really matter.; my grades fluctuated. I overall just had a negative experience in her class. I don't recommend.

SYA4930 was an amazing course taken at the end of undergrad. Dr. Joos helped the class explore possibilities of what to do with a major in Sociology. It was really helpful for me to learn how to develop my professional portfolio and receive feedback before entering the real workforce. I really appreciated this course as part of my curriculum.

I took SYG2010 as a part of a summer curriculum at UF. Dr. Joos was an inspiring teacher that left an impact on me and helped me become more interested in social entrepreneurship and social change. I still keep in touch with Dr. Joos and know that she is always open to talking about change-making and getting involved with the local community.

Dr. Joos was a great professor during the semester I took her course, but she has continued to be a contact of mine, writing letters of recommendation and connecting me with opportunities in the entrepreneurship community. She allows connects her course material to the real world and urges her students to take real action, not just sit at a desk.

Dr. Joos has a passion for Sociology and an ability to conquer students' apathy. Her youthfulness contributed to success of the course. She is able to articulate material for a complete understanding of complex topics, which a lot of professors aren't able to do. I had a great experience in Dr. Joos's class. One of the best in the Department.
