Comment:

I've seen others mention her intimidation factor on here. That's true, we had a student walk out day one. However, she gives quality lectures and the only GRADED assignments are the exams. The notes you take will do more for you than memorizing the textbook. She provides a hearty challenge, but I personally find that a little pain helps me learn.

Comment:

Prof. Carney is not for everyone. If you want to do well in this class you need to hit the ground running and treat it as your top priority. Study the notes. Make flashcards. Go over them every day. If you are not prepared to work really hard for it then there are probably easier teachers. Personally, I enjoyed her class.

Her class is terrible. You write an essay every 2 weeks and have a 6 page hand written journal due every 2 weeks also. She takes a letter grade off for every little mistake. HOWEVER, she tells two funny jokes at the end... it makes the class worth it.

Comment:

Study the notes! Her exams consist of her notes from lecture. No lab reports or prelab - but there are lab exams. I spent at least an hour or two after each class reviewing her notes. Very fun professor. I looked forward to her class everyday.

Run away from this professor as fast as you can. She does not respect her students and belittles them openly. She says shes available to students but then says she isnt contractually obligated to stay past class time or see students out of her limited office hours. Take a different professor if possible.

Likes to assume that we already know a lot of the things that she teaches us. Lots of tests. Makes some jokes that are ok, but a lot of them are really childish. Really tough teacher, but I guess it's mostly because it's a hard class to teach.

SO....A&P in itself, is NOT an easy class, nor it is suppost to be. Carney is a tough professor, but also makes you work hard and dedicate yourself in the course. She has allowed me to see my potential and create better study habits. Be prepared to fully dedicate yourself in the course and STUDY.

I took prof carney over the summer for bio 121 and she was not the best. I thought if I put in hard work- the exams would be okay, but they weren't easy at all. And the one thing I learned about her class is that YOU NEED TO MEMORIZE ALL HER NOTES.

DON'T TAKE HER! TOUGH GRADER AND DOESN'T CARE AT ALL. I took her twice because I did badly at first and I thought why not take her again I have all the notes. The second time around she told me I won't make it to whatever major I'm planning to do, she really made me feel negative about myself.

She is good as a teacher but tough as a person. Almost impossible to ask questions after lecture. She always saying "I'm here to help" but sometimes it feels like she doesn't want to help.

professor carney is a very interesting professor. I had her over this pass summer and although she seemed "tough" and rude in the beginning, she turned out to be one of the funniest professors I've had. The most important thing to do is to make sure you study the notes! Her exams are tough but if you memorize the notes, you'll pass.

Intimidating at the start of the semester, but don't let that scare you. It's her way of weeding people out. Later in the semester she is nice. Study the notes! That's pretty much all you need to memorize to get an A. Use flashcards! Write down everything she writes down. Her tests consists of multi choice and essay. Kind of hard but doable.

"Study the lecture Notes" (Literally) & utilized the study guide to an extent. 1/4-Lab exams 3/4- Lecture exams. The only way you fail is if you are unable to retain the lecture notes & visual aides of lab stuff in your head. Exams are Multiple choice w/ 5 essay questions. She is there to help you not fail you.

Where do i begin with Professor Carney... The first thing I will say is you will never have another Professor like her. She is truly Unique! She can be very rude, will call you out constantly, plays no favorites, no exceptions. STUDY THE NOTES as she will remind you daily to do so. She gives out random videos and handouts that are vital for exams

Proffesor Carney is a smart proffesor. She is funny and sweet. PLEASE DO NOT MESS WITH HER!! SHE WILL INSULT YOU! Be nice to her and she will be nice to you! She just has 4 multiple choice test worth 50 points, ALL FROM NOTES ONLY!! You cannot guess, better know the content. Lectures are long. Over all she is ok.

Prof carney is a good professor for actual learning. Scared off all the lazy people first day, so if you're lazy I don't recommend. Not an easy A but if you STUDY THE NOTES you will do fine. Everything is given in paper, no d2l or PowerPoint.

Professor Carney is good and you will learn a lot if you are going through the notes. STUDY FROM HER NOTES FOR TEST!!!! She gets mad sometimes and insults. She is helpful but not really. She is funny. Her aim is to make things hard. But She is nice to... but i wont recommend her.
