He is an nontraditional professor. He values student knowledge and his classes are discussion based. He knows students gets bored sitting so he incorporates fun games and activities related to discussion as much as possible. He is funny and students laugh throughout class.

Loved this class, his quizzes are really hard but if you participate and get to know him he will give you an A no matter what. Such an awesome guy!

Comment:

Anyone who dislikes Leitner as a teacher should remember they are a college student and that homework, participation, and attendance are part of attending college. His class is a perfect example of what college classes should be. Lots of homework. But easily the most fun and informative class I have ever taken.

Quizes are hard, like, very hard, however, you get a giant load of points added to your grade because of homework and attendance. Sometimes you get extra credit during activities if you participate enough. Finals are difficult hard, so I recommend you concentrate more on class/activity participation, homework, and attendance. Guaranteed B or A.

Do not take this class. You have to put in way more work than you should to get a good grade. He doesn't lecture, instead you play games all class, followed by a brief discussion which never has anything to do with what we are going to be tested on. He doesn't tell us what we did wrong on quizzes to prepare for the final.

I have never had such a fun and caring professor. He cares and values student learning. He really just wants to help his students live a better life. A lot of students who take his class are drawn to it because they think it sounds easy and they ae slackers. Dr. Leitner makes you work for a good grade.

Just an amazing professor. Such a happy and relaxed guy. Everyone feels comfortable around him. You are crazy if you don't love him. What he teaches is so relevant to our lives and he lives the kind of life that he teaches.

Wow what an amazing professor! It is so refreshing to have a professor who is there for the students and not there for selfish reasons. I have never met a man who has life figured out so well. Dr. Leitner makes you think about things you never questioned before. If are receptive, he can really change your life for the better.

Dr. Leitner is one of the best professors out there. He is caring and helpful and just really wants to help everyone. He is so innovative and really practices what he preaches. A great role model for all Chico State students. He changed my life.

A lot of people don't like him because Chico is such a party school and a lot of the class was highly into partying. He strongly emphasizes not to drink or smoke and how you can have a lot of fun doing other things. Not many people liked hearing that. For me, I loved this class. It taught me Time Management and how to live my life to the fullest.

I like Professor Leitner......but this class wasn't very fun. I thought a class called Life and Leisure would be fairly relaxed but we had hard quizzes almost every class. I don't recommend this class at all!

You don't learn anything in class but it is still mandatory to go and listen to this crazy guy talk about leisure because there is a quiz nearly every class and everybody gets C's or worse on his stupid quizzes. I don't recommend it.

My worst professor by far. I don't know how I didn't look this guy up before taking his class but I regret it. He wrote the pointless book himself and there's too many quizzes,he also never hears anyone out so don't take this class unless you like to fail for some reason.

He is kind of a weird guy who lives in a fantasy world. He cant teach basic stuff. If you take his class, either do really well on quizzes and tests or just kiss his ass for a good grade. And also participate in stupid excersises like dancing and singing in front of the class.

I enjoyed this class. Dr. Leitner was a very enthusiastic professor,and wants his students to do well. I wasn't very interested in this topic before taking the class, but I took away some great information. Lots of quizzes are given, but if you read the chapter they aren't hard. It is not hard to get an A if you come to class, and do the homework.

Out of all my classes this class has the MOST homework. There is an extremely difficult quiz every class on a new chapter from the textbook which HE wrote himself. I spend all of my leisure time doing life and leisure homework! Only fun part is playing games almost every class, but other than that it is a lot of work.
