Do not take this guys. Absolute worst. Has made me and many others feel incompetent and even encourages students to drop their major if they are not doing great, instead of working with them. Very negative attitude.

Took him for online class this winter. Had a good experience, writing papers and online exams. Final was straight forward, he posted a review and also announced which chapters are going to be on final exam. Would recommend him.

Not gonna lie... I don't know how this guy still has a job at Brooklyn College. This was the most negative experience I have ever had from a professor. He does NOT like to help or give advice. He has made myself and others consider changing majors because of his terrible attitude. If you are struggling he will not inspire you to do better.

When it comes to grading tests he gets his own code wrong. I don't think he understands the class as much as the rest of the students, all the focus comes onto technicalities and he doesn't even get that information right. Mind you this is an intro class! You honestly could get a better education from other online courses or even Youtube.

I would recommend taking a different professor. This professor does not really show much care to his students. When he teaches he expects you to already have a background knowledge for coding. He avoids a lot of questions when they are asked.

Coming from a different school, I was exploited to a much different CS Program. With this guy, it's an insane amount of work. He doesn't care for the class at all. You have to work way too hard for an INTRO class. He was right that on the syllabus it says 60% of students fail. Get ready to do 90% of learning yourself (2+ hours daily). Horrible.

It's pretty much a requirement to go to tutoring for 90 minutes every week, given how unclear the grading system in the class is. Even if you get an A from your supervisor, you might for some obscure and entirely uncertain reason get a F from Augenstein. He tends to lose the work you send in, too, so make sure that you CONFIRM that he has it.

The course is not super easy, especially as it progresses. The Prof was extremely sincere to the course; He would come in exactly 5 minutes late to the class daily but teach honestly. The notes are available online and he will give a link to it on his first day of class. Exams are hard, assignments are ok. Helpful in class and during office hours too.

He will tell you he does not know if he does not want to answer your question(s), or he feels he needs to explain a lot, or he naturally thinks that your programs do not work. He does not know, or not sure. Maybe his most favorite philosopher is Plato: admit that you don't know anything. But that's not responsible in teaching.

Knows his stuff but not a very nice guy. Accused me of plagarizing my programs when i didnt. Got same grades on test as my friend yet he got a D and I failed. Do not take he is not very kind to students and he is not very helpful or understanding at all. He seems to hate his job or something.

He's a nice enough teacher... He has a lot of experience teaching and he teaches pretty clearly, but he seems annoyed by too many students with non-sensical dumb mistakes. I guess I would be too if I was teaching for so long...

I really enjoyed his class. The assignments are dificult, but once you're done, you really understand the material. He also takes the time to go over everything in class and is very helpful if you have questions. I'd highly suggest taking his class- just don't expect it to be a joke. It's hard work- but very rewarding.
