He does know his Chemistry but he just doesn't know how to teach. Standing in a class reading from his powerpoint slides puts half of the class to sleep and other half leaves before his lectures. You will learn Chem on your own. He is ready to help, but teaching and him just don't go together. Maybe he should just stick to research.

I'll admit that this professor knows his stuff and wants to help the students, however there's just something about his teaching style that makes him impossible to follow in class. All of my learning was done via assignments/review of lecture slides ONLY.

I have absolutely no opinion on the professor. He put the class to sleep, but he has no particular failings or successes in his teaching style whatsoever. Just remember, whatever he teaches you can find online whenever you want.

Is forced to teach material that no one likes! Class is always talking making it diffuclt to hear him! He is a good professor, gives lots of examples and always wants to make sure everyone undersands. Only problem is that a lot of people dont pay attention and talk loud, so its hard to hear him! He is a good professor, unlike what others are saying

Maybe you guys at the back of the class would actually learn something if you didn't talk all lecture. McManus lets you email him, sets extra help dates and ASKS if everyone understands the examples! Maybe if you slackers would do some work for once, you wouldn't find him so bad.

If ppl would shut up in his classes, they'd actually find him a VERY good prof, who does examples patiently and explains sufficiently. He has a passion for chemistry and even though most of us don't like it, if we try to be more fair we'll see that he's a great guy & doin a great job. He's funny too!

Comment:
Aside from his laughable posture, his classes are rushed, ppl at the back don't know what's going on, dosn't cover what's on assignments, dosn't really explain what's goin on in a problem and just throws the solution at you, (but isn't that chemstry?)
