Dr. Berardinelli is such an amazing woman! I had to take this class for a distribution and I loved it! I never found jazz interesting but she really made the lectures fun. All the material you are tested on is covered in class so attendance is mandatory. Few homework assignments and she gives a week or so to get them done. Loved that woman!

I went into this class being indifferent about jazz but I actually came out liking it. Nice woman and if you put the work in (pure memorization on quizzes/tests) you will get an A.

She is so passionate about what she teaches, and she's one of the best teachers I've had. She barely ever gives homework, only 3 assignments, and a 5-page paper. As long as you take notes while she talks you're good. She reviews before every test, which is so helpful, and some of the music we listened to was good. Easy A

Comment:

Prof B is super sweet and informative. I took this class just as an elective but it was still fun and relaxing to take between my major courses. Material wasn't hard, just mostly memorization. Monthly listening assignments, 2 exams plus a final, and a concert report make up your grade. Take her class if you need an easy distribution.

I never write reviews but felt the need to do so for this professor. She is incredibly boring, and illiterate when it comes to technology. Her lectures seem to last for hours, and her tests have way too much information for a Jazz class. Don't take this class.

She is a great teacher! Perfect distribution class. As long as you do the assignments and study a bit for the tests/quizzes you will get an A. The class is actually pretty manageable for history of jazz which I didn't really have an interest in. You will be fine if you just take notes as she talks. She also reviews before every test/quiz.

Nice lady, understanding of your personal matters. If you're fine with taking notes while she speaks then you'll get an easy A. Will only need to rent her textbook and have a pen and spiral. Easy tests, rarely ever homework. She is really passionate about the music, which you listen to a lot. Let's us leave early every class and after tests.

One of my favorite professors. I took her for History of Jazz and walked out with way more knowledge. Her quizzes are easy and there is a review before each one. Listening assignments ask you how you feel about a song and the song itself in general. Final assignment is a concert report which is very similar to a listening assignment but longer.

I had Berardinelli as a director for Music 20 Vocal Jazz Ensemble. She is amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed going to rehearsals every week. She is all about having fun with the music, while still making sure the ensemble sounds good. I can't wait to come back next semester.

History of Jazz @ Molloy. Easy, (esp if you have a background in music). She's sweet, helpful, and genuinely interested in her profession. Tests are easy & gives good review sheets & goes over them in class, very few hws. I recommend her

Had her for history of jazz, she gives 2 tests that counts 25%, a noncumulative final thats 30% and a 4 page paper about a jazz concert. Got a 77 on the 2nd test and still got an A-. She gives you review sheets for each test and final, also there are 4 listening assignments that are easy, deff take if you need an AA class

Best music teacher at hofstra. Very rarely singles people out to sing. Goes at a reasonable pace and is very clear and easy to understand. She is a great piano player and makes class a lot of fun. Doesn't care at all if you are late. Quizzes are stress-free and she'll do everything to make you pass. Once again, the best teacher i've had ever!

Iam a business major. Class was actually interesting and enjoyable. The professor was nice and helpful. 2 quizzes, 2 tests and 1 paper. They were all very easy. Just go to class and take notes and you will get an A.
