Comment:

I kind of taught myself most of the material. The lectures were hard to follow because they were boring. She grades papers hard but if you follow the syllabus and proofread your paper you'll get a good grade.

Comment:

I have heard some others outside of class talk negatively about prof. Wood, but I found her to be a great professor and nice person in general. She would always be up for answering questions, but most of the class seemed uninvolved. A bulk of the grade stems from an observation paper that is worked on throughout the semester. Pay attention to that.

If you have the option to take another class and not this class do so! If you do not follow her rubrics to the T I promise you that you will not get a good grade. She grades paper extremely hard, she was sick for about two weeks, if someone asks a question in class prepare to never get through the rest of the lecture. Attendance taken.

Shes a great person and very kind but so paper heavy and such a hard grader on them too. Doesnt make much sense either and just dont take this class. Not interesting at all which makes it even worse.

Comment:

Although she is a tough grader, I was able to understand her class and get a good grade. I winded up learning a lot. As far as responding to emails went, she is great! She responded within 2 hours every single time, and I was able to hold a full time job while taking her summer class as well.

Avoid at all costs. This woman is a mess. Never responds to emails, I emailed her at least 4 times and did not get one response. She confuses herself during class so its basically pointless to attend considering you learn nothing. Was absent 3 weeks out of the semester so it was a great time teaching myself the material when shes getting paid.

Dr. Wood gives lectures like it is a chore. She is not very good at explaining anything and gives confusing and bad examples. I used my previous knowledge in psych to understand material. Easy if you teach yourself. Big project you work on throughout semester. She's kinda all over the place. Means well but should not be a professor. PPTs online

Rebecca Wood is really nice but she can't teach. If you ask her questions she'll go off topic and not fully answer it. She allows notes and the book for all tests but the questions are kind of worded funny.

Very good professor to have. Knowledgeable, kind, very smart. Cares about what she teaches. Willing to help if you ask. DONT SKIP CLASS, she goes over very important concepts almost every single class. Do the work and pay attention, easy A.

Dr. Wood is very nice when you talk to her and make sure you participate during the discussions. Buy book for reference and study the charts for the exam. She doesn't go over everything from powerpoints, so be careful to study everything for exam. She gives very detailed study guides so make sure you follow that. Pretty straightforward class

Great at giving lectures. I was never bored in her class. She doesn't make anyone feel uncomfortable and she is super knowledgable. She prints off the slides and hands them out at the beginning of class which I loved because it was easier to take notes and study. You definitely need to show up to class to pass the exams. I would recommend her!!

Comment:

The only class I have taken with this professor was an online accelerated 5 week summer course. I don't like how she speaks over her powerpoints. They drag out for 40-60 minutes, and you have to listen because she quizzes on what she says not just what is written in the PP. However, I feel that the course was fair, and it was paced nicely.

Her lectures ran a little long considering she printed them out prior to making us go over them. Not very understanding about personal issues, considering she gave me a partner that never attended class & waited till the last 3 weeks to tell me I needed to do all the work alone. Pick your own partner & you should be fine!

Dr. Wood is very organized which i enjoyed. But lectures often drag. Very willing to help students. Gives quizzes after each lecture/reading section and class discussions. Gives about 3 exams, you will immediately know grade after test. Attendance is a must bc she mentions lots of things that will be on test and shows many video clips.

She does not count attendance unless you want extra credit for going to every class. Her tests are 50 multiple choice questions but they are tricky. She assigns papers but grades them ridiculously hard. Counts grimmer in grading too. Overall she is very nice but her lectures are boring and so is this class. She doesn't use the book in class

This class was not what I expected to be. There was too much work involved and not enough time to get it done. Had to skip her class in order to do work for that class. 3 papers, 4 tests and a lot of online quizzes. I would not have taken this class with this professor.

Professor Wood does not verbally answer questions very clearly but thankfully everything is crystal clear in the syllabus. She posts study material every week that goes along with the chapters. If you want to pass her tests... Do the study questions! She doesn't go over them in class and doesn't collect them, but uses the same questions on the exam
