Comment:

Marinelli is a cool guy who grew up in the 70s. He teaches a class that is required and is super cool about a lot of things except for leaving the room during class. If you leave for the bathroom, do not even try to come back. He tells bad dad jokes but he's a nice guy.

Comment:

Although Professor Marinelli has a majority of good reviews, I respectfully have to disagree. For example, I had many questions throughout the semester and found him to be impatient on most occasions. On a side note, I personally found him to be far more attentive toward the girls.

Fantastic professor, super easy A if you follow the formatting for the 3 papers (each 2 pages). Really light reading--usually blog posts of news articles about the 60s. DO NOT buy the Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test because you can just use Grade Saver (there is not really a quiz on the book). Loved this class because of all the great films! 10/10!

Marinelli is the man. His unique approach on teaching a writing class was quite refreshing and he did not make it dreadful. Write 3 pretty easy papers for 20% each and 3 response paragraphs assignments to movies we watch in class. If you follow his format and act interested you will do great. I HIGHLY recommend Professor Marinelli. Funny guy too

He is a great professor, but he does grade the paper harshly. In the end you still get the grade you deserve for the class, despite the paper grades. No test but there will be a pop quiz if he suspects no one is doing the reading. Papers and short & to the point & there is no midterm or final. Pretty easy A but you do have to show up & do the work.

It's a very simple class. All you have to do is skim through the textbook, read the short stories, and write short papers. Writing drafts really help. As long as you come to class (on time), participate in discussions (like answering really easy grammar questions), and show that you're willing to improve, you're set.

Prof Marinelli enforces attendance, you must show up and be on time. He grades your papers pretty rough, however, at the end of the semester if he sees you've improved you can get a higher overall grade. Often, he tells jokes from a packet. He lets you out after a half hour into the class. He is worth taking. You are required to carry the book.

Awesome, funny, laid back guy. It was a general requirement course, and he made it as enjoyable as it possibly could while teaching what he had to. Some of the films were not that good, but the ones that were really good balanced out the selection. 3 standard papers and 3 "response paragraphs" over the semester, nothing difficult.

Marinelli is the best Professor I ever had at NCC. He is one of the teacher that makes the class interesting and fun. He motivates and transmit his great energy and happiness to his class. Since my first day on his class I knew it was going to be one of the best experience. He is very helpful and always has a happy face. Super Funnnnn!!!!

Great guy! Watched movies more than we actually had class and was a fairly easy grader on the 3 essays we wrote all semester. He truly loves what he does and makes the class fun and interesting. Also lets you rewrite papers if they were below a C. Gets students very prepared for the proficiency exam. Would definitely recommend taking this class!

easiest english class I have ever taken. Marinelli is awesome! such a sweet guy. always cracks funny and quirky jokes, tries to make class fun, and cares a lot about his students. we watched movies and only had 3 essays which were only 2 pages long. definitely take Marinelli!! :)

he is a great professor! he takes classes outside when it's nice and when we're not watching movies. the movies were good and captivating and you write three 2 page papers over the whole semester, totally sweet guy, totally sweet class. definitely recommend to take marinelli for wsc002, it's a requirement anyways :)

This class was super easy and fun. We watch a bunch of movies. The only book we had to read was simple. It was poetry and short stories. Unfortunately, they were his own, which is weird. Still a great class. Everyone gets an A.
