Comment:

Kashef is a great professor. I had him for aGIS course and he had 10 assignments and a final. The assignments were quite informative and didn't require the textbook to purchase. Within each assignment you need to write a 1-3 page paper and cite the sources. Ultimately, Kashef cares about his students and the environment and has a good class.

This was the first year this professor did his class in an actual classroom, since it used to be an online class. We did a lot of group work and the quizzes were very easy to find answers in the book. We had one paper and one presentation for each group. No final during finals week either.

I took Living in Our Techno Socio World Capstone with Ali and he was absolutely amazing. We traveled around Italy and he was so helpful and fun throughout the entire trip. His assignments were meaningful. I would suggest him to everyone! He loves his students and truly cares about you succeeding in life.

Comment:

Took the online Environment, Society, and Technology. Really impressed that he actually teaches you via his notes. The assignments take awhile to do and require you to use your brain! He does good at giving feedback and helping you get the grade you want. I haven't had any classes with him in person however.

He was hard to understand at times, but he was overall a good teacher. You read the unit chapters in the textbook then do reflections for the ones that were assigned to you. We did a proposal, paper, and power point presentation. Easy class!!

He is are really really bad teacher. Hopefully you understand what he says cause I didn't. He is always nodding and has no idea whats going on. He reads from the book and that is all he does. Make sure you bring so other homework to work on if you are going at all.

He is a nice, well meaning person. Very hard to understand and doesn't really try to improve his English to benefit the student. Didn't have tests though. Read articles and write summaries for each unit for a total of about ten 2pg papers over semester and a presentation. I would have liked to get more from a capstone, but it was easy none the less

Wow. I thought that this would be a good class. NOT AT ALL. This teacher is hard to understand. So dont sit in the back. He is willing to help but arg. You just have to read the chapters or he will just read them to you. I wish he would actually teach something. Best of luck!

Very disappointed... I just graduated and after four years the only C on my transcript is from this class, was told course was an "easy A" from this very website, but I thought the tests were difficult.. Plus his English is hard to hear/understand.. I am very interested in the environment, but felt that I learned absolutely nothing from this course

Hmmmmmm. Hard on the English language. The classes I took with him were "easy A&B's". He seems to enjoy "being in class" about as much as the students. Lots of early outs. and he like to throw student teachers at ya so he can disappear. Most classes are totally by the textbook and are mostly self taught. Nice guy to talk to outside of class.

Lousy class. Boring waste of time. He reads right out of the book. I know how to read, I don't need someone to read to me! Most students sleep during lecture or do crossword puzzles or text their friends. Required course that is a waste of time and money.

Kaschef is just one more of UNI's profs who do not know what they are doing. You have to teach yourself and others around you. I should be getting his paycheck instead of him since I did his work. He is hard to understand and does not seem to know what he is supposed to be teaching. Take this class only if you can teach yourself.
