Professor Pyle is one of the most caring professors I have ever come across at eastern. He cares about his students and what hes lecturing about. 3 take home exams, which he guides you through (honors course). Read the books and pay attention to what he says, and youll be fine. I wish I could take another class with him

Was not very accessible, graded on 3 exams and 1 discussion. Get ready to read and write papers on those books. Great subject, but boring class.

Doc is a great professor teaching an extremely hard course. This class was writing-intensive, with 5 IRACs, a few other assignments, and two bigger briefs due at the end of the year.

Ive never worked so hard in a course ever. Pyles teaching style is threatening law school day so people actually read, and it works. We had to read 3 cases per class, and had three take-home exams. I low key miss this class. 10/10 would recommend if you actually want to learn!

Dr. Pyle is one of the best. He lectures using slides and the book but engages students for answers and is entertaining. Make sure to read the given material so you can participate. Exams are usually take home unless he thinks the class is blowing off the readings. PLSC305 also has a final paper but he helps you if you ask for it.

Pyle's is a very solid teacher. At my first year of Eastern, he was the only teacher that cared about the students and the topic he was teaching. Lessons where well thought out, and very interesting. The test are cool because the are take home and they are essays instead of an actual test. He also hates group projects just like students do.

Dr. Pyle is a wonderful person and great professor. Get ready to use your book a lot - the text is super important and you will be expected to read it and apply it to take-home exams. This class is stupendous and I look forward to taking 313 next semester.

He is extremely intelligent and it's clear that he knows the ins and outs of his classes! Very interesting but can be challenging, especially when it comes to exams. He can be a little scatterbrained but he keeps lectures entertaining and is flexible at times with deadlines. Will take again.

Great guy, great prof, knows a lot about con law and everything surrounding it. Is really good at providing all sides of an argument and letting you come to your own conclusion. If you have the opportunity to take his classes do it.

His lectures were eye opening. I went into the class with a strong idea of where I stood in my beliefs on controversial topics, but he helped me to see the other sides of arguments and helped open me to the idea of a market of free thought. In his honors section there are only three take-home essay tests and they're long but easy if you try.

Pyle is amazing. He's hilarious but also extremely intelligent and opened my eyes to so many things. His lectures are intriguing. Papers can be lengthy to write but he gives blatant expectations and turns it back to you with feedback on your grade. The class was interesting and he made it even better, would love to have him again in the future.

Great guy. Gives feedback on every long assignment. He seemed to really enjoy my work and it encouraged me to do even better. He seems to really care about his students and wants them to like the material. He's a little bit of a tough grader but he's fair and won't fail you if you do your best and steadily improve!

Notorious DBP is probably one of the greatest professors I've had the pleasure of meeting during my time at EMU. His lectures are informative, and he's always available for office hours to help you when you need it. He's a wonderful professor and an amazing person. Take one of his classes if you have a chance (I've taken all they'll offer...)!
