Taylor has you write in a journal for every single class, but rarely collects what you have written. He never gives you feedback on your writings and does not teach you anything on how to become a better writer. I would not recommend this class if you are interested in learning anything at all.

Bruce Taylor was the best professor ever. Journals are very easy, send everything to him by e-mail. Just make up a bunch of stuff and go into great detail and he will give you a check plus. Grades on -, Check and Check Plus. Take this class!

I have enjoyed having Professor Taylor as my teacher since day one. He is technically retired, but returns to Eau Claire teach a class or two because he enjoys his profession so much. He is always willing to help his students, when asked, and manages to be completely down to earth while educating his class at the same time.

I took Bruce for an honors Film course! He requires a lot out of this students! By the end of the course, I had over 100 pages typed in a journal. (which I heard he required for all his courses) If you are in Honors and are thinking of taking the film class, don't take him unless you LOVE film...The films he shows aren't common at all!

Professor Taylor is technically retired, but he comes back for one course a semester. Do not take him. He does not teach, and his "literary discussions" are less intuitive than my 3rd reading class. A disappointing class and a very unprofessional unsatisfactory professor.

CREATIVE WRITING MAJORS READ THIS: Do NOT take this class!! It will not further you in your writing at all! He BARELY grades your writing, if ever, and gives you a check, check plus, or check minus with no explanation. Also he has 15 points at the end to "fool around with" good guy, BAD professor. DO NOT TAKE IF YOU WANT TO LEARN!!

I took this professfor innEnglish 274, and he is by far the worst professor I have ever had. We have to write journals, and turn them in twice per semester, he forgot to grade mine, and when he did, I got a C- while other students who did not even do all the journals got higher grades. He has no clear grading system, and is rude and unclear!

easily the most pretentious person i have ever met. the one person i have met that i can think "i wouldnt care at all if this person died" he always uses the same examples and instead of teaching us the class, only pointed us towards websites when we were struggling. i stopped going halfway through the class and dont regret it at all.

I took Bruce for two undergraduate classes and one grad class. He's the most passionate teacher I ever had--one who is not afraid to be goofy or vulnerable or share his own struggles as a writer. Though at the time I was angry each time he wrote on my poems, "So? Make me care..." I learned to be a much better writer. He changed my life.

Do NOT take Taylor. We have to BUY (not rent) our class textbook- which he just happened to write himself *cough* and then we NEVER used it. Now I blew my money on this arrogant prick's crappy writing. He has no idea what's going on in his own classes... there is no syllabus even though its required by UWEC to provide one for all classes. Just NO.

After giving him an honest chance, Bruce Taylor has disappointed me time and time again as I find myself listening to the same writing advice time after time. I have gotten so sick of going to his night class that I have almost lost interest in taking writing classes. He is full of himself and tries too hard to be a "cool" teacher, and tries to d

Instead of teaching, he struts like a peacock and shamelessly self promotes. He never teaches by way of any of the classics or masters, who seem to be far below Taylor. Cocky, rude, unorganized, and full of useless information that in no way resembles a college course outline, take his class only if you plan on wasting time and losing brain cells.

Worst professor I've ever come into contact with. "Favorites" (me included) passed the class with little effort, others worked diligently and received significantly lower grades due to his blatent bias. His grading system is flawed, going to his class is a waste of time, his advice is worthless. Even the english advisors will tell you to avoid him.

I hated this class, Taylor spends the entire class talking, not teaching. His assignments are "go write a paper." He doesnt tell you what he expects or give any direction. He gives papers back with very little or no comments but he wants you to rewrite them. He was horrible, dont take him.

I LOVED TAYLOR!! this was by far the best class i've taken at UWEC so far. taylor is a bit of a hippie and a little unorganized, but if you can get over that you can definitely learn a ton from him. i've never been in a creative writing class before and i learned so much from him. he's the**** and i recommend him to anyone

After looking forward to this class so much, I'm extremely disappointed. He's extremely biased. He picks three people after the first assignment that he likes and sticks by them no matter what. His grading scale makes it practically impossible to advance and all too easy to fall behind no matter how much effort you put into the class. Avoid him.

I thought he was a really open teacher- creative writing is hard to teach, and he uses his experience to show you what works and what doesnt. His grading policy is clear, and he keeps the classroom interesting. I think he is a great teacher and a great writer- a lot can be learned from his work as well as from him!

This is the worst prof. I've ever had. Taylor's unorganized and badly developed grading policy killed all of the benefits that I have recieved from this course. My entire class, which discussed this before he came to class agreed that he is very unclear with his grading policy and that our grade is completley based on his bias for you.DONT TAKE HIM
