not a very fun class, but not very hard. all the test and the final are multiple choice except one where you have to write a simple 2 paragraph essay some of the material is interesting but the lectures are kinda boring, i would recommend this teacher.

Comment:

Good teacher, boring lectures, stupid busy work. Multiple choice questions on the tests were vague sometimes. Readings are not required...they were boring and the test is from the lectures instead. Guy really cares and wants you to learn. Identification essays are really easy and just ask you to define terms. Very interesting information, though!

He is AWFUL. Terrible teacher, class is so boring, tests are difficult but he provides study guides and TA's run study sessions for extra credit if you attend. I wouldn't take his class though, it was really terrible.

Dr. Reid is a passionate, thorough teacher. He loves his job and he desperately wants his students to learn and appreciatet the subject. if you don't understand what he's talking about, just ask questions. he'll help you. If you want to learn and feel motivated, take his classes. he's excellent.

Dr. Reid is a cool dude. He is kind of geeky and is definitely passionate about what he teaches. The class is easy in the sense that you don't have to do much on a day to day basis. The few tests he gives though are pretty hard but you will be fine if you study. I'd recommend this class.

Dr. Reid is so passionate about his subject that it actually helps you learn and enjoy learning it as well. He is an extremely nice guy and i dont understand how anyone would comment that he isnt helpful. He is a great teacher, not too hard but not an easy A. I would take him again if i could!

Definitely not the most exciting class I've ever taken, but Dr. Reid is a really nice guy and is extremely willing to help if you just ask him. Really loves what he teaches. Attendance not required but you'll miss a lot if you don't go. Not a hard class at all. If you go to class, skim the reading assignments, and take notes, you'll be fine.

If you don't find his teaching interesting than you're not interested in thinking. He can certainly be challenging but thats kind of the point. Dr Reid is a passionate, thoughtful and brilliant professor and a good match for anyone genuinely interested in learning history

Terrible. He doesnt teach the technology half of his Science and Technology class but he does test you on university policy and spend months on background material. He enjoys teaching but often enjoys having power over people more. I think he was picked on as a kid. Useless if you ask him about something he's not covering in class. Terrible.

God I hate history, but Reid made it interesting. He encourages class discussion which is a plus. Quizes are open book/note and easy as pie. Exams are a different story. 2 essays and 40 multiple choice. I'm a science major, so history can suck my grits, but the class was informative and somewhat fun.

This class is Pre-Modern Science and Technology. I would not recommend taking it. Reid is a good teacher for the most part. He is a little boring, however, he is passionate about his subject and does the best he can with it. Some days are great, but its not consistent.

You have to work hard in this class to do well. His view is that a C is the average A student from High School. If you're expecting an easy A, don't take this class. But if you want to learn some history from a professor that enjoys teaching and knows the material, this is the class for you.

He's alright. He seems nice. I didnt like taking his test because of the short essays. had a lot of readings from the book. If you take notes and do the assigned readings, study for tests and quizzes you should be well off
