I has the pleasure of being Dr. Catilina's a student at the University of Maryland. She is a great professor. She was always easy to get in touch with and truly helped students understand the material. I recommend that any student considering to take her class do so it will be definitely a great decision.

Prof. Eliane is one of my favorite professors at College Park. Her lectures were very straightforward and there were no surprises. She is a fair grader and is always willingly to assist students with difficult topics. I enjoyed her class and she has been a great resource even after after the semester I took her class.

Comment:
She has a heavy Portuguese accent, which at first excused her incomprehensible rambling, but I later realized that she also had no idea what she was talking about. She needed to check with her doctoral advisor before being able to teach signaling theory properly (after teaching it incorrectly for weeks). Still got an A. Just read the text book.

Teaches Game Theory, an advance level course, at Georgetown as adjunct prof. Avoid her like a plague. She may be good at research but thumbs down for teaching. Does not know how to communicate. Gave wrong answer on solution handout and in one instance the notations used were incorrect, making it difficult to sort thru to learn.

She was writing calculus up on the board for a non-calc based macro course.. and then two questions on the final couldn't be answered because she didn't give enough information, so they ended up not counting towards the class grade. she was very confusing and had a heavy accent. kind though

Professor Catilina is very difficult to understand and her exams are also unfair. They are worded in a way that there are many possible answers. Otherwise, she is alright.

Comment:
Lectures almost impossible to follow, especially if you do not know calculus (which she insists upon using, even though you will not need it for the exam). Practice problems are really helpful. If you go through them and can do them well and have looked at the relevant chapters in the book a bit you should be ok for the exams.

Not very available to meet with students. It's helpful to have taken Calculus before taking Intermediate Micro with her, since she uses a lot of math. Practice problem sets are really helpful, so do them.

Not mean, but not helpful or understanding. Her accent is difficult to understand and she is not good at explaining things in the first place. Don't take this class if you want to get anything out of it or if you want an easy class.
