Gary is a Shakespeare scholar, but his courses are too difficult. Many people fail and withdraw, so beware. I wish he'd give assignments or take attendance, anything to help boost people's grades when they actually try. Instead, your grade is based on weekly memorization quizzes, which everyone fails. If you can, avoid this course & the stress.

Gary is my adviser and I've had three classes with him so far. He. Is. Fantastic. As long as you do the readings and pay a moderate amount of attention in class,no way you can fail.Really good with email and if you have a question he will get back to you like that. I have Gary as my advisor and I've had 2 classes with him so far and I love him. He loves to tell stories (especially about his son), and is very enthusiastic when teaching a subject he loves. Most students may find him boring and confusing, but I've managed to get an A-. He doesn't take attendence but you need to show up to get a good grade.

Gary is my adviser and has been my professor three times so far since I have entered Purchase. He is by far, one of the kindest people you will ever meet; he truly cares and worries about his students. If you are going to take a class with him though, I suggest taking a small class; otherwise he's prone to boring but informative lectures.

I have had Gary twice since I have been here. He is a great professor who loves to tell stories. every piece of literature we read, he has a funny story to go with it. He is not the type of porfessor to lecture, he performs. he is always gesturing and keeping things interesting. He does not ask for much. He wants students to enjoy his class.

if you're going to take a shakespeare course, this is the kind of professor you want. I had him in a lecture course for 3.5 hours and none were dull - you need to take your responsibility for an amount of work, but its worth it becaues you learn a lot from him.
