I love Kriz! Really wish he wasn't retiring, but I figured I'd give him a good rating anyway because he's hilarious, pretty straightforward, and thus far I think the best organic chem prof I've had.

Dr. Kriz knows what he is doing. He may come off as impatient with students at first, but he is one of the most helpful professors I've had. Best Chem professor I've had. I could really tell he wanted his students to succeed.

Kriz can seem a little gruff, but he really is a sweet guy who wants you to learn and is very realistic. Problem solving sessions are awesome, tests are straightforward, although a little tricky at times. Good prof and good guy!

Makes you feel stupid if you ask a question, quizzes are based on 3 questions and easy to blow. Tests are fairly straightforward, though. Study the book and you will be fine because lecture is so-so. Only prof I have had who ridicules students who raise their hands.

Wonderful teacher. It's a pity he doesn't teach a ton of classes. Great lectures but tests are challenging. Quite a good sense of humour too. Take him if you can.

I was expecting him to be the best at ochem but I thought he was just alright. Kriz is definitely the guy since he's been doing this for so long. He's good at lecturing but is very oblivious to students who raise their hands to ask questions. It's like you have to yell to get his attention. Tests are hard so do as many practice problems as you can!

Dr. Kriz's teaching is pretty straight forward, but organic chemistry is not. He is arrogant and rude in person. I got an A in class, but he was still a jerk whenever I came by office hours. His tests were tough and require a lot of studying. He once gave us a test problem "to separate the PhD's from the rest."

Kriz's method of grading is off the wall. When students approach him about how he marked them down he becomes defensive, and once threatened to lower someone's grade for asking. Kriz plays favorites, and it is easy to wind up in a power struggle. He can be a good lecturer, but I won't take him again because I don't want to deal with the drama.

I had Proffessor Kriz for Organic chem. 351, 352, 353 and several other classes in the 70's. He was the best professor I had in college. Back then he was in his 30's, so it is humorous to see on person here calling him a cute old man :)

I was very intimidated to take Organic Chemistry. Kriz tested us on the stuff that was discussed in class and nothing else. He is a great prof and he is extremely helpful. It's not easy-but he knows how to teach it.

After getting straight A's in gen. chem I thought I'd be ok here. I was wrong, even with talking to him a few times during office hours I cannot grasp the stuff on the test. Even though I have everything in the chapter figured out. I never figured out what to study so I will take it again next year, hopefully with a different professor.

Vyvyan almost scared me out of chemistry altogether, but Kriz has boosted my confidence. Funny, smart, and understanding. Offers extra credit opportunities, problem solving sessions & handouts. O-chem is tough, but Kriz makes it doable.

Made ochem enjoyable for me. Tests were very fair and a good reflection of his lecture material. Keep up with the book and follow the lectures and you should be fine. Gained back my confidence in ochem after barely passing after a second try in chem 352. Funny guy and keeps you interested in lecture.

Great professor! Helpful, great explanations. Fair grader. Dr. Kriz makes OChem interesting and takes the scare out of a challenging course. I actually enjoyed taking OChem and thank him for my new confidence in my science ability.

I've never had kriz and I can tell you hes an amazing professor. He's helped me get through 351, -2, and -3 during office hours (which are plentiful). His classes are popular and difficult to get into :( I can see why some people think he's intimidating, but get over it, the education is worth it.

Rude, late, pompous, DISRESPECTFUL TO WOMEN! Told me I have no spatial reasoning skills bcs. I am a girl, told us he likes students that have beers w/him better than us, told us that the other sections get X-cred. and we don't bcs. he likes them better. Obnoxious man, maybe bcs. he is almost retired. If U r female, find a different prof.

One of the best professors I've had for any subject! Absolute crystal clarity in lecture and lab, very willing to help students in any way possible, fair grader, pretty easy exams (if you show up to lecture and read the text), and a good sense of humor! Take every o-chem course you can with this guy!
