Terrible instructor... Doesn't respond to my emails. Syllabus is decieving of what materials you actually need for the class. Rented the book thinking i was saving money. When actually you need an access code worth $40 alone and w/ ebook bundle it was $75. NO Where in the syllabus did say anything about an access code.

Not a great professor. The assignments are fair and it is a pretty tough class but his grading standards are pretty arbitrary. One assignment he just wants to see the program to work, and other assignments he wants to see a world class programs. his comments not helpful at all and he seems very condescending and irritated that we asked him for help

This guys is ridiculous. Assignment week after week even when he assigns projects that are worth a huge chunk of your grade. Comments on his grading dont help much. I hope he understands that students have other classes as well. I think you can pass this class if you get a head start on a lot of things. Too bad he doesnt lay out all the assignments

This class is a lot of work. You cover about 850 pages of a Java text. There are assignments or quizzes/tests every week. I took it online, so the class is more or less an independent study class. If you need direction from a live instructor and interaction with other students you probably should think about taking online classes.

hard class, really difficult, i took it online. lots of work every week. tests are decent though. lets you do group work, which is good if you have a good group. have to put in a lot of effort. not recommended if you aren't well versed in comp languages.

DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS ONLINE! Way too much homework and an online group project that is virtually impossible to complete and VERY HARD. Most online students are full time employees with familys etc. and find zero time to participate in an online group project. I do not recommend this class ONLINE with Guzman. It is WAY TO HARD & I am A student.

WARNING! Do not take this class online. LABOR INTENSIVE! This course felt like two classes. It's not that hard, but assignments keep coming one after another. It would be better taking this at school. This guy sucks at grading assignments. I had to argue all my assignments for the right grade. Good thing he gives tons of extra credit to get an A.

he could be helpful when wanted, but would mark down projects and extra credit at a whim or for no particular reason, took along time to get emails back from him explaining certain online hw/project/etc. he did give extra credit and allowed you to get the grade you wanted, but it depended on his mood. the teaching was inconsistent as well asgrading

I took this class online. I thought this would be an easy "A" but there ended up being several projects that seemed to come one after the other. They took a lot of time and research so be prepared to WORK in this class. He does give you extra time if you need it and extra credit at the end. Very helpful teacher. Confusing at times.

Pretty easy class alltogether. I did absolutely nothing and got a C. He's willing to help and gives LOTS of extra credit opportunities. Just doing the extra credit alone and nothing else will give you an A.
