Comment:

This guy is so hilarious. He's a pretty relaxed teacher, but his instructions are so confusing and unclear. He constantly critizes your work (even though that's necessarily a bad thing!). He tells lots of long stories that have nothing to do with anything. Overall he's a nice guy, his class is just weird though.

Very nice guy, but as a Drawing II student lumped in with a Drawing I class, I felt that the class was lacking. The projects are great if you're just learning how to draw, but as an art student, I wish it was a bit more challenging. He offers some great critiques, though. Helpful and clear.

Once you get past the way he criticizes your work you'll find he really has a lot of plausible advice. I've never taken any type of art class before, but what you do in his class isn't too mind boggling. A 3rd grader can do it.

I took him for 3 weeks pre sessions this summer his class is a joke. He is easy just do your work and you'll be good. Class consisted of one book report no more then 5 pgs a portfolio and one quiz and one final both where not hard since he gave you the awnsers practically....hes weird but overall he was worth waking up in the morning

easy class, you get out early all the time. You can eat as he presents slides. easy projects, just try them and keep all together, he wants to see them at the end. If you make any effort, he is willing to help you. He will also suggest things or artist to look at. He is a little crazy, but if you dont mind, hes awesome.

he talks alot and doesnt give u very helpful advice. You can work for days on a project for his class and he'll tell u it sucks. The class is not difficult, but the critiqs are harsh

Took his 3 week summer session--class was so easy! He did not care if you knew how to draw well or not, just as long as you made an effort. Easy tests/quizzes directly from his notes, portfolio of your drawings, and short book report. Easy 3 credits to fulfill art elective!

Took this class as a 3 week summer session. It is any easy 3 credits, we just put together a portfolio of drawings, did a short book report, and had a very easy quiz and final. Take this class if you need to fulfill your art requirement.

Yeah he's crazy, but he's great! He likes to tell long stories that aren't always related to what's happening, but he's entertaining. He's a nice guy who only wants to see good painting and lots of it. It's clear what he wants and easy to get an A.

I had John for a great deal of my graduate courses in painting. He is a great teacher and helped me find my style. I think he is better for the graduate course work than the intro classes.

Ok, this guy is crazy. You do literaly nothing. The 2 1/2 hour class never lasted longer than 40 mins. You do projects that you probably did in kindergarten. He takes this crap way to seriously and criticizes EVERYTHING.

He is a wierd. I took him as an ART education major w/ all the fasion majors and it was a wierd class. All we did was go home and bring in abstract designs of shapes. I was always bored in that class, hence why I am only an education major now

fairly easy to do well in the class, but this guy is a total wackjob. I felt like I learned nothing but I got a good grade. He's the head of the MFA program so he usually has more important things to do than class so expect to leave early all the time.

Take him for Intro to Visual Arts in the summer. You don't have to be good in art/drawing..he grades very well basd on effort. He is soo easy, very helpful.
