I'm a straight A Honors student and I had to drop. Had to write a 2 pg SINGLE space essay every week, each worth only 3pts. The prompts themselves were a half page long, and I could've written term papers on each. Spent 23 hours on 1 essay and got 1/3pts. He's definitely knowledgeable, but dang, really? Couldn't understand what he wanted from me???

Comment:

The type of teacher that is terrified of technology. Refuses to make a brightspace, or upload any documents anywhere, will require texts unavailable online so that you have to barter with your classmates over the ONE book in the library. He also uses capitals occasionally during grading, which seems immature. Grades weekly papers like term papers.

Comment:

Great class and great teacher! This class reminds me of that I go to college to Learn, not just to pass and get a good grade. This is the kind of class with content you will remember even after the semester is over. The stuff you learn in this class is things you will have a good use of in real life. You become more educated about the world.

Class starts with a lecture on the topic, then it's movies for the remaining time. You'll write a paper on that topic for homework. Include everything he mentions in his lecture and you'll be fine. No tests, he just takes the top 1014 scores on your papers. Easiest A ever. Once you get the grade you want, you don't have to come to class anymore.

Boring class but shows a lot of movies which makes it a little better. Very dry lectures but he gives you all the test questions beforehand so it is hard to do bad on them. Take good noes and you'll be fine!

bored me to tears. exams are all about rote memorization but are given in essay form. treats students who require accommodations due to disabilities as though they are trying to cheat. instead of teaching about ethics, he tells you what to think.

Great, easy and fun class. He may freak you out on the first day but he is NOT THAT BAD! there were three homework assignments that were pretty easy and a midterm and final. if you go see him he will help you. he shows at least on movie per class and lectures off of powerpoint. great class

Uses Power Point ALL the time. You can use your notes for the midterm and final and he gives you the essay questions before hand. Almost every day you watch a movie too! Kinda boring but a really easy class!

Comment:

Wenner is a great professor, even though a lot of people don't take his class seriously. Media Ethics is an excellent class and you'll learn a lot. He knows his stuff from being a professor and having been out in the real world of media.
