I don't doubt that Dr. Jiminez is a very smart individual, in fact I know she is. But unfortunately, that does not translate whatsoever into the ability to convey information efficiently. Lectures are very disorganized, slides are very scattered and do not flow from slide to slide. She must get better at organizing information.

Reads straight from the PowerPoint. Honestly, reading the book is better prep for the exams than going to lecture. Her voice also makes it that much less enjoyable. Only good thing is that her slides are basically from the text so at least you can refer back to the text to get a better understanding. Either way, would not recommend.

Have you ever watched that SNL poetry class skit with Drake? If not, just watch it quickly. The resemblance and persona between that poetry teacher and Jiminez is impeccable. Hard-to-understand voice and squeakily giggles at the worst times. Besides that, Jiminez is really nice and wants you to succeed. You have to study a lot on your own time tho.

She is super boring with only lectures. She is also super unorganized, i emailed her a couple times this semester and she never even responded to one of them. This is a class for non-chem majors and it feels like she is trying to make us into chem majors. Test are really hard for a non-chem major course.

this class was such a scam im currently taking it and not surviving it so pls do not take this class. the professor reads off the slides and cannot convey the material to students, exams are OD difficult for a NON SCIENCE major intended class. biggest mistake of my whole life and waste of money. rutgers needs to give us compensation for this

So the prof probably is a good person but the class requires you to teach yourself and she just reads the slides. Avoid just because of her voice. Every few sentences she'll giggle unnecessarily. Adding a lone pair of electrons on oxygen isn't remotely entertaining prof so leave out the giggle.

She lost my quizzes and my homework but refuses to give me credit or let me retake anything. She sets up appointments that she forgets to go to. She never reads her emails, like never. There are about 3 packets of work due every class and online homework too. There are weekly quizzes too. The tests aren't too bad though- just study on your own.

One of the worst professors at rutgers. Besides her voice being V annoying, she's a horrible teacher so be ready to teach yourself everything. the exams are overly difficult for a basic chem class. I had tech problems accessing homework (which i paid $120) and she said there was nothing she could do about it so my grade is suffering for no reason

This class was absolutely HORRIBLE. She doesn't give notes whatsoever all you do everyday is do chem activity packets without getting any notes or information on them so you have to completely teach yourself in this class which is ridiculous and very hard if you don't have any previous chem knowledge. Avoid this class at all costs she's awful!!!!

Avoid this class at all cost. An average day in class is you walk in, you receive one or two packets and then you are expected to hand in those same packets for a grade that very same day without any lecture. Its a self taught class because Leslie does not lecture what so ever and she is very disorganized. Exams are open ended and very difficult.

Be prepared to show up to class for the participation credit, not learn much, and go home to teach yourself with the textbook. Shes a pretty nice lady and will try to help if you reach out, but she doesnt answer emails, is ridiculously forgetful, and is very unorganized. If you can take another teacher do it, but your world wont end if you cant

Worst teacher I have had yet. She seems like a really sweet person, but she is a terrible lecturer. The only reason i went to class was because of the iclicker attendance questions. Don't need the textbook at all, only the online hw. You basically have to teach yourself in this course.

Dr. Jiminez is actually an amazing professor. Sure the class is hard, and she doesn't teach well in the class; however, if you do go to office hours and talk to her after class she actually helps. I very much recommend her.

Once you get used to her voice you start to realize that Professor Jiminez actually is a good professor. Her notes align perfectly with the textbook and she provides plenty of practice problems in the notes along the way to make sure you understand. You can get away with not going to class because her notes make sense when you read them by yourself

Of all the orgo lecturers, she cares about her students the most. She is receptive to questions and tries to get students to participate in class. But, the way she structures she class makes it hard to learn the material- what you learn in lecture, cover in homework, and the practice problems she makes available on Sakai are all out of sync

I think she cared about how the class did since it's supposed to be an easy Chem course, but she cannot teach! Everything in her note packets are most important, but her teaching is so complicated. So I self-taught myself all the material at home, and still got an A. If she teaches again, don't get the book, do the online HW, and teach yourself!

She can't teach in lecture and you have to learn the material on your own. But this class is easier than gen chem so the material is really easy to understand. She doesn't tell you how to get an A in the class, but I am assuming if you are above the average for all the grades you can get an A.

I stopped going to lecture because it was hard to pay attnetion. I used the textbook and it was a lot of help only because I needed pictures to understand. I think why her reviews are bad is because the class itself is difficult. She really tries her best. The homework takes hours to do but helpful. The tb is your best friend.
