Toughest old lady I've ever taken, but she would let people revise work until they got it right. Even would wait and help people after class. Tough, but fair - She was definitely an experience.

Comment:

Dr. Bueler was one of the best instructors I had while attending Chico State. She was energetic, knowledgeable, but most importantly, she was a true teacher. She made concepts easy to understand and enjoyable to learn. I really respect and admire her.

I loved Lois Bueler. She was hard, but I wanted to learn, so I appreciated that her curriculum was challenging and that I would come away with more confidence and knowledge. I also appreciate how hard she tries to memorize her students names within the first two weeks of class.

One of the best professors I have ever had for English. I Miss her teaching style because I actually LEARNED to be a better writer--and better at analyzing what I'm reading. If you have the chance, you should take her.. it won't be easy, but it will be memorable.

Lois is very tough but the best teacher I've ever had. If you are serious about learning, she will work with you to make you an exceptional writer. Her standards are high, but fair. Don't graduate without taking her for at least 1 course. And PLEASE don't ask, "Is this going to be on the test?" She is hardcore and old school - a rare breed.

I have her for 375 and 356 and she is TOUGH, like they've said below, but seriously--you're in College. It's SUPPOSED to be tough.. and I don't agree that she shoots down questions; some people just have to grow up and realize that they aren't kids anymore. I recommend her if you are in college to learn.

Prof Bueler was great! Her tests and essays were TOUGH, but you learn a lot from each experience. My writing has improved and my knowledge of the subject increased a lot. She is definetly hard, but she does it for the student's benefit, and she does take effort into consideration at the end of the semester and grades the student fairly.

after bueler, you'll question your worth as a student. don't bother asking stupid questions, she will shoot you down. if you have to take her class, learn exactly what she expects of the assignment before even starting, or you will fail. no fun at all in her classes (she thinks she's hilarious and loves the sound of her own voice). TONS OF WORK!!!

Shes a really awesome professor. She gives very constructive criticisim on your graded papers, but it helps you out in the long run. You might do more work in that class than others, but you learn more and are better prepared for future english classes. I recomend her if you like to write and read.(if you an english major, I hope you enjoy both)

Professor Bueler's class was very fun, although difficult at times. She grades hard on her papers, but she her comments are always worthy of reading and using. i really recommend taking her class if you are interestested in Old and middle English literature. Take her before she retires! you'll learn a lot.
