DONT BUY THE BOOK!! Biggest waste of 100+ dollars. All tests are online.. Soooo easy. Don't need to go to class either... Got an A and didn't even try. Highly Recommend this class

Test are online and are word for word the practice test which he provides answers to, and can be acceced while taking the test. Easiest class i've ever taken by far, but annoying. Going to class is a waste of time because you can't understand a word he says due to his thick accent that is apmlified by the microphone...

Comment:

Definitely the class to sign up for if you're looking for a GPA boost. You don't even need to attend class to ace tests, just copy down the study guides on a word document and look them up during tests. The first day had around 800 people and by the end of the semester, he was lucky to have 50 there. I went just to make him feel like someone cared.

Easy class to take and get A. The test questions used were straight off the study questions. hard to understand but the quizzes and tests are easy when you look at the study questions.

The trick to this class is simple: study the review questions on BB. They're lifted verbatim for all the exams. I realized this after the first exam, stopped going to class and still got an A. Anyone whining about difficult tests obviously didn't look at the review material. Boring despite violent material, but generally easy.

Earthquakes was the most boring class I have ever taken at KU. His lectures were beyond boring and you can't understand him with his accent. The TA's were horrible and treat you lik you're in pre-school. Easy A though.

Professor Gonzalez made the class a lot easier than it could be. His lectures weren't very exciting but then again who can make natural disasters interesting. He gave extra credit for attendence and allowed several opportunities for homework and quizzes. He pretty much goes out of his way to ensure you a good grade. Nice guy, easy A.

this professor is extremely boring, you get extra credit for attending class and answering multiple choice questions with a cps remote. he gives you a review before the test posted online with all the questions on the test. this class is a waste of time.

This class was an easy A. You get extra credit points for going to class and taking small quizzes. An A is an 88% or higher. I never went to class after the first test and I got an A. Just study the reviews and old tests. I only studied for a few hours and got A's on the tests. He also drops the lowest test which can be the final.

this class sounded like it would be fun and easy when i signed up. I can tell you that it is neither, it is a 1000 person lecture that averages low 200s so their is no need to really go to class besides the extra credit (which really helps at the end!) The material in this class is not easy and the test are hard. The grading scale saves the class

I took this class for an easy "A". Even though I ended up getting an A, but it's not a cake class. Attendance is mandatory if you want E.C. which I would recommend. Memorize the study guides that he gives you; he will claim that he hardly uses the study guide to form his exam questions but that is a total lie. I never opened the text book.

Natural Disasters... Arrg. This class is like getting your teeth drilled, at least at the dentist you get some Novacaine :) Class is SOOO boring. But you get participation points which equals extra credit. Study the slides and old test questions and get participation points and you'll get an A. Hope you enjoy it as much as i DIDNT

I think he was only hard to work with since i attended a 1000 person class, but he did a really great job of handling everybody and his notes were great. Powerpoints made it easy to learn, and his grading scale was fair and effective

I made the mistake of taking this class. I wanted an easy class to boost my GPA. If that is what you are looking for, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. This class wouldn't be so bad for someone who was truly interested. I however, was not. Luis doesn't take kindly to people leaving in the middle of class; be there, on time, for the whole lecture.

Easy class, but he does manage to make it boring. I know that at least for Fall '06 he made all attendence extra credit. The test are not that hard if you're good at learning from a book. He also provides huge multiple choice study guides and he uses some from old test that he post. 5 test, but he drops the lowest one (which can be the final.)

His tests do not always correspond with his review material. I beg to differ about it being an easy A. Especially with class averages around D. This isn't because no one cares, his class is just hard because of the tests. I studied for 8 hours for both tests and came out with a C... only because i have attended extra credit.
