Comment:
Grades very fairly, VERY passionate about biology in general, and will answer practically any question you have about the subject. A very knowledgeable professor, who is not unreasonable with grades. He does go through material quite fast, but he does his best to keep everyone on the same page. Highly recommended.

Comment:
Good professor. Definitely knows his material and is able to explain unclear concepts. Style of teaching is different from what i'm used to (had Dr. Kinkle for previous 2 quarters). Exams weren't too difficult if you study enough and do the learning outcomes. no PRS or Bioportal assignments, which was odd.

Comment:
He takes advantage of teaching classically-very simple structure. He likes to lecture, but that could be a good thing. He is really nice, wicked smart, and always helpful. He likes to give study guides for the tests and, as long as you really study the material he puts on them, the tests are EXACTLY like the study guides-sometimes word for word.

Comment:
This class was a bit challenging due to the material. Tests tend to be difficult, but not intentionally. He is very smart and knows all the material in depth, so it is hard for him to dumb it down sometimes. Read all the chapters, but focus on lecture slides. Study guides help, but are not exactly like the tests as other people have claimed.

Nice guy, but really boring class. Exams were easy and he curved 10-15%. Read the text, go over his notes, and do the study guide - you'll be golden.

Very good professor. He knows what he's talking about. I found him very helpful. He has a study guide that helps a lot with exams! His exams were not that difficult either.

Had him for Bio 101 and 103 and Debry for 102. He's much better than Debry in my opinion. Going to lecture isn't necessary, but he is a great speaker and knows the material very well. Also, very helpful and can answer any questions you have. Had him for night class 2 days a week. Only two tests and a final so just go to class and take notes, easy A

I think he is an excellent teacher. I had Conover last quarter and they went over some of the same material and when Schnell explained it, I understood it much better. He posts reviews for the exams which are extremely helpful. He puts up his powerpoints but going to class is still very, very important in my opinion.

I really hated the 20 min exams in the day classes, he gives you the full hour and a half and they aren't even that hard. He explained things very well so that they made sense. He is really friendly and kinda funny too. I took him for 101 and then took a day class for 102 i plan on going back to him for 103. Very good professor!

I found him to be much more cohesive than the day class which I took the first two quarters. His tests were not super easy, but they were more fair and consistent. I wish I would have taken him all three quarters. Better than Dunford and Debry. He was actually a pretty good lecturer. I'm happy I took him, I learned all I needed to know.

Knows the subject and will admit when stumped. Seems sincere and likes subject mattter. Slow to post (scantron) test grades. Also slow to post (mandatory) class prep notes, often he posts just before class.
