Rachel was a great teacher. After taking her class I went on to shoot for the OC Register. She knows enough Photoshop for the job. This is photojournalism, not conceptual art. If you need to do any more PS than what her handout describes, then either you're overstepping ethical boundaries or you need to learn to use your camera better.

Beginning photography with Rachel is a must. The goals for each project are clear-cut and she'll help you reach whatever image you're trying to capture on camera. The best part about Rachel's teaching is the fact that she'll go back and let you know where you went wrong all while allowing you to redo the project for a higher grade. DO THE WORK!

I love Rachel! She's so sweet and helpful. I took this class about a year ago but she's a great teacher and she has that sexy English accent. If you want to take film she's really the perfect teacher to take it with.

A good teacher, but has serious issues teaching the course description. This needs to be cracked down upon because it is a disservice to students. Has NO business teaching journalism classes. Doesn't teach how to use Photoshop to do anything but silly art projects. She's wonderful, & great at explaining things, but needs to stick to her own field.

She doesnt know photoshop! Several times I had to tell her how to do some BASIC stuff.. locations of options, example, how to minimize the photo (not the program) window. I waste of time.

I couldnt have asked for a better teacher! Shes funny, understanding, and loves what she does. Shes one of those teachers who can make something so fun that you dont even know you learned it. Take her if you have the chance!

Very understandable, and isnt a hardass if you need to turn in late work. She is fairly just, and you will learn from her. Shes open to questions. Grading is fair. Only difficult part is that photo in general takes a long time to develop and its just a biitch to do.

Rachel is a wondrful teacher. She lets you explore and indulge into photoshop. She is funny and really cool with a wicked british accent! I would take the class again if i have her as the teacher. The best photo 30 teacher.
