I took the summer session of Biochem and I would recommend it to anyone! Coleman was more than fair with the grading scale and his lectures were engaging. It's a lot of information but is not overwhelming. Coleman is very clear about what will be on tests and helpful in review sessions. The textbook is not needed.

Coleman is a great professor. I took the online 5-week summer course and I would recommend it. It is definitely a lot of work, but worth it. You watch the lectures at your own pace and take an exam every Friday. He also drops one exam, which is nice. I did not really use the textbook at all.

Professor Coleman is a fantastic professor. His lectures are interesting and he uploads recordings/notes. Help sessions are super helpful if you can go, but hes very friendly, caring, and supportive, making sure students are comfortable with the material and always open to help them if not. Definitely one of my favorite professors here at W&M!!

I've taken all of the intro bio courses, and genchem 12 and orgo 1/2 and I did okay. Most of them were curved - I'm not GREAT at them. This class was my favorite science class that I've ever taken. I loved that it wasn't the specific stuff that you needed for intro bio. Also Randy is a 10/10 who does give 1 EC lecture (moves you up a letter), so go

Prof Coleman truly has a heart of gold. One of the sweetest professors I've had. Assigns a good amount of readings but they're really interesting and you can get an easy A without actually reading most of the assigned readings, you just have to find one point you like in them and know that part well for discussions. Recommend for easy COLL150.

Professor Coleman is by far my favorite professor I have had at W&M. He is so passionate about this class. He also cares for students as people which is amazing. I was so excited to come to class every day to learn more and discuss topics with the class. If you have the chance to take CHEM 150 I would definitely take it!

Professor Coleman is definitely my favorite professor so far. His class is so engaging and he is very friendly. There are nightly readings and some writing assignments, but the material is always interesting. So glad I took this class.

Coleman is a great professor. His lectures are interesting enough, he knows a lot about the material, and he is invested in the success of his students. Posts all materials online, so it's okay to miss class. It can be hard to follow lectures if you don't print the notes beforehand. Grade is entirely based on tests which he does not tend to curve.

Biochemistry was made enjoyable by Prof Coleman and he is probaby one of my favorite professors at W&M. I took the online summer course and found the material to be straightforward even though I was nervous about organic being integrated. I felt prepared for tests as long as you follow the objectives. I don't think the text is needed.

Dr. Coleman is very knowledgable about biochemistry and you'll end up learning a ton in the class. His grading scale is a little convoluted and there is essentially no curve, but overall I deem the grading fair. His templates for lectures are boring, but if you supplement the lectures with the book readings, then it makes it more bearable.

Prof. Coleman is the best professor I've encountered at W&M so far. He genuinely cares about his students and their personal lives, and he runs his class in a very comfortable way. Lots of in-class discussion and reading outside of class, but the books are super interesting. Highly recommend this class to anyone and everyone!

Very nice guy and he tries to make it easy to skip class since it's at 8 am by uploading slides and audio for every lecture. That's the good part. The bad part is that your grade is based exclusively on five tests (the cumulative final can replace one of these). For me personally, I found his tests extremely hard and never felt prepared.

Very nice and really knows the subject. I recommend him if you like the way that biology classes are taught, as it is very similar to a biology class and nothing like a chemistry class. The tests are easy though and I love Professor Coleman, so it was a good class.

Rough class to have at 8AM but he posts all of the lectures online so you can go back and rewatch them! The best study tools for his exams are the old exams he posts on Blackboard. Reading isn't necessary but very supplemental to his lectures.

Professor Coleman is helpful and encouraging. He values student feedback on his course and is understanding of extenuating circumstances. I was wary of a writing- and reading-intensive seminar, but he eases you into the heaviest workload. Because the seminar is discussion-based, you have to be prepared to participate. I'm glad I took this class.

Randy is an incredibly warm and wonderful person. He makes it hard to get an A, but also hard to do poorly. If you go to/listen to lectures and study, you will be fine, although it is a ton of memorization. Genuinely cares about his students!!

Randy C is the best. He's really nice and sweet and wants his students to do well. Biochem is a hard class with lots of memorization, but Coleman keeps it short, sweet, and to the point. It's a labor intensive process, but you'll get the grade you deserve for your effort. Class is at 8 am, but he records lectures, so don't freak out if you sleep in

He's a great professor who really cares about the students. Because it doesn't have a test to teach to, the classes were much more enjoyable and discussion based. Sometimes the class would get uncomfortably quiet, and there were a lot of papers, but as long as you keep up you should do well.

This was my third class with Coleman. I received a C- in Orgo 2, a B+ in Biochemistry, and finally an A in Neurochemistry with him. Coleman is the smartest professor I've ever met and a great human being.
