Comment:

Professor Roth is awesome! He is super kind and very smart. You have a quiz every Wednesday in the Monday lectures but they are pretty easy if you read over the chapter before class. He goes over the quiz answers the same day so youll know how you did. Friday classes are usually cancelled and hell just give a simple online assignment instead

Comment:

He gives a quiz every week l, which arent that difficult if you look over the chapter before the quiz. He has online assignments every week that are super easy and dont take much effort. He is super smart and very kind. He doesnt take attendance but I would recommend showing up to class.

Professor Roth is awesome. You will have class every Monday Wednesday, and Friday. He usually cancels class on Friday anyways. You will have a quiz every Wednesday on the Monday lectures, but don't worry, he curves all the quizzes and gives you plenty of opportunities for extra credit!

Comment:

A fun professor! Attendance isn't mandatory, but essential to pass. He gives good notes and there's lots of quizzes (every Wed.) so you can always improve your grade if you study. He tells you the correct answers after the quizzes so you know how you did before you even leave class. I would definitely recommend.

Comment:

I took his env. Studies class (forget the course code) and it was my easiest class. Dont have to show up for lectures as long as you buy the textbook. Quiz every Wednesday,chapter# is posted on d2l. I just took notes on the chapter before Wednesday classes and easily passed the quizzes. Still regret not going to lectures though. Hes interesting.

Dr. Roth is a very wise fellow who has lots of knowledge of the changing world around us. His class is very lecture heavy, but there really isn't a way around that. He is open to all ideas, but likes to joke about opposite opinions then his own. He is a real character and I highly suggest taking one of his classes to open your mind.

Roth is very knowledgeable, and it is obvious that he cares a lot about what he is teaching. Very involved in the community. His class isn't too challenging. He posts articles that take between one and three hours to read thoroughly, with a short quiz every week. He goes over the lecture in class, posts it online, but going to class helps for sure

his tests are a little hard but if you read the articles for the online quizes, it will also help you on the test. he pulls questions from those article for them. there is no attendance policy but you do in class activities so you should try to go to the majority of them. I actually learned a lot more from this class than i expected.

The class was pretty easy, as long as you do the online quizzes and study the powerpoints for the tests you'll get a good grade. There was no attendance policy, but he has in class activities that count toward participation points so just go.

He's a decent teacher, trouble is no one cares about the subject. It's just a gen ed requirement. No attendance policy, tests are pretty hard. but quizzes are online and super easy. if you use the quizzes to study, you're golden for the test. Nice guy, offers extra credit.

Comment:

Starts off boring but then picks up a lot. He is extremely knowledgeable in this subject and it's an important one to know.I highly advise going to class, covers test material class beforehand,but you need to go to class cause it's not just off the slides.Easy to get an A if you put in effort. I miss this class and this teacher.Highly recommended.

I recieved an "A" in this class. Yes, he is a hard teacher but if you do your in class assignments and study for the test it's an easy A. He does cancel class alot, but he had reason too (his dad was in the hospital). I would recommend taking this class to others! He's very helpful and gives extra credit as well! :)

Roth is an extremely intelligent professor and guaranteed you will take with you a ton of information about the current environmental and climate issues. homework can be hard but he offers office hours and though attendance isn't required, it's helpful to attend 'cause he doesn't go just off the powerpoints for the exams.

Roth was not great teacher. The class was fairly pointless. He cancelled class alot, and attendance was not mandatory, but he gives in class assignments. He grades harsh. He also takes forever to return assignments, and doesnt go over material for tests in class.

Attend class, even though attendance is not mandatory his work can only be done in class, if you miss it then you get a 0 for the assignment. He was a laid back teacher, cancelled class a lot, if i would have went to class I would have did good. This isn't geography, its environmental science! Material is sort of hard

Dr. Roth was an excellent teacher. He is very approachable. He loved what he was teaching and was quite dedicated to the subject. He gives you out of class assignments and you go through power points during class-which he posts on webCT for easy access. He can be challenging when grading assignments and with assessments. Highly Recommended!!! GO RR

All you do everyday is get a work book, he assigns about 12 ridiculously hard math problems and expects you and a few other confused students in a group, to understand the material without having taught it. This can hurt your grade when each question is worth 5 points each...if you love math, you will love this class! If not..DONT DO IT

This class was pointless. He assigns TONS of problems from the workbook and never explains or does sample problems so it would help you on HW. Do not reccomend this class unless you like the enviroment, other then that..too early and pointless class
