Comment:

Dr. Pinnock is so passionate about her class! She is very caring and makes sure you're improving your writing as you go. She gives amazing feedback in papers and will make the time to meet with you to go over your areas of improvement. The class is very reading-heavy so be ready to read lots of books. The class is super interesting though. 10/10!!!

Comment:

She is a genuinely good professor who knows what she's talking about and will help you if you come to her. Her class requires plenty of reading, but it is definitely worth taking because it encourages you to discover new aspects of Religion.

Comment:

Dr. Pinnock is really nice and extremely understanding. However, she's not going to be pushed around by her students. This class was overall really interesting when comparing different religions' beliefs on a specific topic, but there were some readings that were not interesting. She creates a wonderful and friendly classroom environment!

Her class was interesting, but the books lacked. I would have preferred a textbook simply because it was unbiased. She's very helpful and very nice. And her assignments aren't hard to complete. Her tests are easy if you read.

Comment:

Contemporary Religious Thought sounded a ton more interesting than she made it. Make sure you read everything required AND answer the questions or else your test grades are going to be rather low. I was thankful whenever we had a movie to watch or whenever she let us out early. The best aspect of the class: Site Visit.

Pay no attention to the comments about the "Holocaust Lit" class. I was in this same class with these students, and I can say with objective certainty that Dr. Pinnock is a damned smart, good teacher, and that all but one or two of these students were complete fools. The peer tutor was also good. He is so dreamy and good looking.

She knows her stuff. Worth going in to talk with during office hours. Some decent readings, but hard readings for an entry level common curric type class. If you're not a Religion major you probably won't appreciate her or her class.

I have to put a lot of effort into this class. However, I suspect that she grades biased towards your passion towards the subject. If you really care, or at least act it, she grades a bit more leniently. The discussions in her class are good, but thery really depend on classmates instead of her.

she is very hard to figure out as far as grades go... class and a big part of the grade is based on discussion of a subject which is pretty much taboo... the readings are one-sided (given, no one likes nazis) and become very dull...

I had Dr. Pinnock for my first year seminar on Holocaust Lit and film. The class itself was depressing and a little boring and repetitive. However,the professor is very knowledgeable in her field, approachable,willing to help, and she is in no way unfair.

I didnt like my contemporary religious thought course at all. She was no help when it came to papers and tests...agreed with everything said during class and then counted off it you used it on tests because it was wrong. She contradicted herself daily.
