She is down to earth and really nice, but exams are really long (I had one that was upwards of 97 questions total in a Word Document). On top of that, she gets really behind. In the TR section, youre lucky to get the lectures (1-6 pages in a Word Document, avg of 3) about a week after the actual date.

Dr. Tsiang is one of the most unprofessional professors I have ever encountered. With classes being online she refused to put our lectures and assignments on blackboard and instead emailed them to us. Not one of those emails were sent on time and were usually over a week late. The only assignments are papers that will take over a month to be graded

Most disorganized class I've ever had. Since it was online, our "lectures" were Word documents that she obviously wrote in 5 minutes and which were often over a week late. Only two assignments, which never get graded. Three exams, which are all in the last half of the semester, so you never know your grade. Textbook needed b/c she doesn't teach.

This teacher is the actual worst. Doesn't have notes to follow along, and just doodles on the board the whole class. You will never get out early, and she gives the hardest tests without any preparation. I beg you not to take her.

Prof. Tsiang was one of the most caring people I have ever met, although her class was a bit difficult. You are only graded by a handful of things so make sure to give your all. She will always use the full amount of class and she will rarely cancel class. She is not a difficult grader, just do what she asks.

Lots of homework and reading. Not very good at replying to emails, or ignores them. Boring class, makes you want to miss a lot, but she is super strict with attendance. She will hold you in class for every second, so don't expect to get out early.

DO NOT TAKE HER!!! She is absolutely horrible. Tests are difficult and nothing like reviews. I missed more than the allotted classes (I have excuses) and she told me to go the disability office to get help and excuse my absences or else I will be failing and it is too late to drop the class. She was rude and unprofessional during our meeting. Awful

By far one of the most difficult classes I've taken at EKU, and the hardest professor. She is extremely scatterbrained-her lectures NEVER make sense, everything is 'organized' by charts which are unhelpful. In this class, you will be teaching yourself because she is so unhelpful. Sweet lady, but does not know how to teach!

Dr. Tsiang gives the worst lectures. If you can understand abbreviations this is your class but if you do not I do not recommend taking this class. She is straight lecture on a chalk board. She is test heavy. Your grade depends on what you get on the tests. Only a few assignments to help bring up the grade.

Dr. Tsiang is extremely thorough in her lectures and will do whatever is necessary to see you succeed. My only problem is with her grading. Two of the tests are worth 25% of your grade each, and the final is 35%. She puts too much weight on tests, but is otherwise a solid professor. It's a class you definitely have to study for.

Dr. Tsiang is probably one of the most unorganized and scatterbrained professors Ive ever had. HOWEVER, she is the absolute sweetest human ever! She is so kind and caring and wants only the best for her students.

She talked to me like I was stupid basically the whole semester. I didn't even want to ask questions so I didn't learn anything. When we had our conference, she continued to speak to me in the same manner. Also had us write our reflection piece before our final paper so I had to make most of it up. Very unorganized.

She was a very awkward person. She said that it was her first time teaching ENG 102 and I could tell. She referred to the book often but never made us use it. I never opened mine. She was hard on attendance. This class was basically useless because she rambled about everything during class. Easy A but choose diff professor for sure!

Comment:
This class might be tricky if you aren't naturally good with grammar. Her wording on tests is impossibly technical and, unfortunately, exam scores are 80% of the final grade. She is very patient, helpful and kind, but be prepared to study quite a bit. Advice: don't skip, read the text, and ask thoughtful questions as they come to mind in class.

Dr. Tsiang is very knowledgeable and dedicated, offering useful examples in class and helpful advice in personal communication. 710 is nonetheless a difficult class, with intensive reading and studying required, even if you feel comfortable with grammar and syntax. Learn your IPA well!

You are only graded on exams, which are near impossible. She assigns homework but you don't get a grade for it, and the "participation" grade doesn't affect your overall grade at all.

Dr. Tsiang is a very pleasant person. Yet, she is a very hard and unclear professor. I was lucky to have passed this class. Grammar is hard but she seems to make it harder than it should be. I've heard other professors make this class a bit easier to pass.

Tsiang is simply off the charts crazy. Her homework assignments are ridiculous. You need a dictionary just to figure out what she is trying to assign. Not to mention, she assigns way to much reading in one night.

If you're looking for a professor who assigns pointless homework assignments and causes awkward silences during discussions, look no farther. I believe that Dr. Tsiang is a perfect example of the saying "if you can't do, teach". However, she brings up the question of what one should do if she cannot teach.
