Comment:
He is lecture heavy, but this is to be expected for calc 3. His lectures are usually theory based and why something is so (rather than how to solve such a thing), so it might be better to just read through the notes after lectures. But, he is very kind; during Covid-19, he made many accommodations for us which helped raise my grade. Very nice guy!

Comment:
His teaching style is horrible. He teaches calc 3 purely on just slides and does a terrible job explaining the material. You're honestly better off not going to class, teaching yourself the material and doing the hw questions through the textbook. His slides also go through tons of proofs which you don't even need and it just confuses the class.

Comment:
He focuses too much on proofs and theorys that arent even on exams instead of actual examples. Hes not bad, imo he just focuses on the wrong things. Tests are straight from hw so you could skip class(since you dont learn any exam material in class) and just focus on homework and get a good grade in his class. His class struture itself is easy.

Dr. Wanner was an amazing teacher. He clearly cares for his students and loves his job. His test aren't that hard if you do all the homework. Only complaint is that the test are 10 questions so if you miss one your grade goes down dramatically. But overall would DEFINITELY take again.

Great professor explains everything well, my only complaint is that his tests are ten questions and if you miss one you get a B.

use google for hw answers if stuck. DO THE HOMEWORK he does not collect homework. BUT the test are pretty much the same thing as the homework. NOT even kidding. DO the homework neatly, save it so you can study for the cumulative final. Quizzes are the same thing as the homework too should be an easy class helpful in office hours, go to them

I have never worked so hard just to get a C in a class - especially in math. Professor Wanner is a nice enough guy, but the homework he assigns looks nothing like the tests. Lectures consist of mostly theory, and you're lucky if you do more than one or two simple examples in class. There are 9 quizzes in recitation (the lowest 2 are dropped).

Comment:
You have to teach yourself from the book to get an A. His lectures are pretty boring and he wastes a lot of time talking about proofs and topics that wouldn't be asked on Finals just to educate you which is both good and bad. There would be 10 quizzes in lab, if you do homework regularly you'd be good. He uploads lectures slides on blackboard.

Hes okay some lectures were clear and some were too abstract. The biggest problem i had was the difficulty off the tests, the first test was okay but it just spiked so fast and the final was SUPER hard, the class got hard after withdrawal period. I got As in calc I and 2 and LinAlg and i barely passed this class, defiantly avoid.

He used to be good but, I dont know why he made his tests so hard. Tests are almost all of your grade and the final is almost half your final grade. I got A's in bot calc 1 and 2 but i had to work super hard to get a b in this class, i made a few mistakes on the final and my grade dropped a whole letter grade. AVOID.

4 matlab projects (tough and tough). Ugliest hand written. You must decipher it out. Exams are fairly enough. You must do hws to help you on the exams even though hws don't count. Understand the concept is important. TA is tough. Take off points from a little small thing. Would not take with this professor.

Some parts of the class are hard and some are easier. What they say in math is practice, practice, practice. This is true of every class including this one. His lectures were not the most clear to me but he was very helpful when I went for help during office hours. I put in a lot of work which paid off in the end.

The tests weren't easy but they weren't out to trick you or anything like that. If you were thorough when studying you should do well on the test. His lectures are very conceptual, I had a difficult time following the lecture but when you go back to do the homework things become much more clear.

Respectable professor. Some lectures can be boring. He rarely gives examples. I only understood the materials because his TA was so great. Definitely do the HW problems he asks even though they're not graded. The final is tough. I spent a whole week seriously just focusing on his material to earn the grade for the final. He curves a bit at the end.

The way he was teaching was easy, he made the material as easy as it can gets ,just for himself though. He hardly do real examples, he only do simple example. Alsbecarful from his misleading talkes like don't worry about the grades, that can come later.he don't have no remorse for giving F for student. Morethan half of the tudents got F.Stay away!

I have had this professor a couple times before for other classes and he does not cease to amaze me with his brilliance and his engagement to the material. When it comes to differential equations he is the master but he is just a boss at math. He explains things perfectly and his exams evaluate your minimum understanding but the quizzes are harder.

Great professor! Makes a hard subject easy and enjoyable. He dropped the lowest 4 quiz grades (out of 12 total) at the end of the semester. You have to give some effort, after all, its differential equations but if you do you should do very well in the class!

He is by far the best math professor at GMU.He explains math very well and in a very comprehensive way.Tests are comprised of homework problems from the book.So if you do the homework and at least attend most of the classes. It is an easy B.The final is made from test questions. He also is very generous on grading.
