If you are pre-professional do not take this class, you can learn just as much and keep your GPA equal to what you worked for with other R and A professors.

Great class. i learned so much about chocolate that i didnt know existed. you definitely have to do your research but its worth it. she doesnt necessarily help you learn to write but you can talk to her at her office hours and they are very helpful.

very condescending and not helpful during r&a. you're basically on your own performing your project with a bunch of lazy students who don't care and have greek stuff to do. she will disclose your class performance/grade to your lab partners. WARNING. AVOID!!

She gives us a lot of assignment, yet she is not consistent with her essay grade. one day she told me good on the thesis, the next day she will give a bad grade on the thesis paragraph I developed from our discussion. high standard, actually too high for being an science teacher.interesting material for sure though.

Gaps in her knowledge are obvious. Just use the ttextbook and figure it out for yourself.. She would probably be good in other classes that are more in her area.

Dr. Turgeon is superwoman. She expects a lot out of her students, but her class is fun and worth the effort. She doesn't really use a textbook which is refreshing. Best teacher I've had at Furman, hands down.

Dr Turgeon is one of the best professors I've had at Furman. She's really nice and really willing to help and really wants you to understand the material. Class discussions are great and labs are fun and most of them are pretty quick and easy. Gave extra credit to get extra points on test. No final exam! I highly recommend this class!

AMAZING! I love Dr. Turgeon. She tries to act tough at the start of term to weed out anyone not willing to do the work, but she offers lots of ways to do well and is extremely helpful. Class discussions were really fun and she was very engaging. I wish I were a bio major so that I could take more classes with her!

She is an amazing teacher. She brought statistics down to an understandable level. Our lab failed the first time and she was extremely helpful about getting us started again. She is picky about lab notebooks, but she's so amazing it doesn't matter. Honestly, i would have hated this class if it wasn't for her!

TRIED REALLY HARD TO GET THE CLASS INTERESTED IN TOPICS RELEVANT TO TODAY. MOST OF MY CLASS WAS APATHETIC AND NEVER SPOKE, BUT SHE KEPT AT IT. I LEARNED A LOT OF BIOLOGY AND GOT A LOT OUT OF THE CLASS, EVEN THOUGH I HAD TO WORK PRETTY HARD.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TAKE HER CLASS. Yes, she plays favorite, and if she doesnt like your views on things, she will dock your grade. And heaven forbid you show up a little late to class. By far the worst non-major class on campus. She goes way too in depth on things for a non major. steer clear of her!

Good prof but class is very time consuming (i.e. a lot of studying required, long labs). Goes out of her way to help us, but it is difficult to do well without studying for hours every day-including weekends (and this is non-major bio)
