I have taken more than one class with professor Grimshaw, and every class I learn something new and interesting. His tests are hard, and require that you read and come to class... Political science courses aren't just blow off courses. If you want to learn, have fun, and work a little for your grade this professor is fantastic!

Comment:

The worst professor I have ever taken. Tests are based on facts in book and notes. Notes are presented in a very obscure fashion and the test are harshly graded to make passing impossible. I'm a CPEE and this the ONLY grade below a B I've ever received. If you read the books and take notes, then you will fail for sure, yes, tests are guess and try.

Great class, learned a ton about Chicago and the professor is hilarious. Tough class though, be ready to read most of the chapters from three books, although they are very interesting, and make sure to take very good notes in class if you want an A or B

Offers a unique perspective on urban politics. He was involved in politics for quite a while, so he is very knowledgeable. The course left me with many new insights, and I am very satisfied with it.

Great teacher, real down to earth. Has a good time teaching and doesn't take anything too serious. **Knows everything you could ever want to know about chicago.
