I had him for student managed funds. I definitely recommend the class based on how interesting the content is but as a teacher he was not great. He's smart and can be helpful one on one, but otherwise he's difficult to understand and his grading doesn't make any sense. Also unorganized and we often wondered why we were there.

i have no idea why this guy is a teacher. after having pretty good teachers in all my finance classes (finance major), i take smi, and end my sju finance career on this terrible teacher. he does nothing to prepare for the class, is unbelievably incoherent, has absolutely no structure to class, and his grading is completely arbitrary. so frustrating

Ok professor. I missed an exam but just studied hard for the final and got an A-. Just read the textbook and if you are an accounting major take fais 1 and 2 before this course. I knew everything before even taking the course because of that.

Most of the class revolves around the portfolio assignments yet tests are strictly from the book so make sure you buy & read it. Using the trading software was a nightmare. It was most students 1st time & he didn't really explain it & just expects you to know what you're doing. He wasn't very clear on explaining some of the assignments. Don't take

Take this professor if you need a class to sigle handedly ruin your semester. He teaches in the Trading room, but barely uses power points and writes on the board even though no one can see over the screens. Very interesting class with plenty of useful information to learn. Focus on the textbook, read it ALL! Do assignemts on time, participate as much as possible, be attentive and you will learn and you will get a grade you are looking for. This Professor is not for lazy students.

This class is cakewalk. I was way too caught up with my other courses to even care and still got a B+ with almost zero effort. He's essentially a genius but HE DOES NOT LIKE YOU! Don't bother trying to be his friend because as I said he has no interest in idiots. Just show up, do the work(hand it on on time) and you'll do fine.

He's extremely difficult to understand. He's rude, and yells at students for asking questions or not understanding complicated and incomplete directions. His lectures are incoherent and all over the place. Its beyond me why he is able to teach at SJU. I am really interested in the subject and very disappointed that he is the professor teaching it.

Tezel is awesome. Great thing about his investment management class is that he teaches you to use tons of programs in the wall street room. Tests weren't bad (esp. after his curve). Homework assginments were great. Overall very valuable class. Make sure you read the book and don't fall behind.

Avoid him. He changes formulas around until you just can't understand things. Then he spends an hour doing one problem off-topic - just to impress us?!?! This is too important of a class to have him confuse everyone on a weekly basis.
