Organized professor and is very clear on assignment due dates, exams, etc. He takes very quick notes during class so keep up. Although he assigns a lot of work and his tests can be challenging by covering a lot of material, he grades fairly. If you put in the time, learn the material and study hard for the test, you will do well in his class.

The class was boring. He relied on the we learned from what little we could understand from his chicken scratch writing.Test questions were unclear and nothing like homework assignments. Do not take this class unless you like to teach yourself math.

Dr. Sptitznagel is a good teacher. However, I find that my notes for his classes and the book align very closely. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, and it means that you can probably get away with missing class if you want. He is exactly as interesting as the content of the class is to you. I always found that he was ready and willing to help.

He presents the material in the most straightforward way possible. It's boring, but I have no idea how he would make Calculus not boring... There is a lot of online homework, but you can take it multiple times to (hopefully) get an A. Overall, I would definitely take him again if I needed to.

Dr Spitz is amazing! The material is hard, but he presents it extremely well and will clarify anything you have a problem with. Each class is primarily taking notes, but honestly it's the best way of learning the material! EXCELLENT PROFESSOR!

Great teacher. Kind of a dry personality, but explains everything very well. The material is hard, but Dr. Spitznagel explains the topics very clearly and slowly, and is very patient if you don't understand. A lot of homework, and 4 tests. Highly recommended if you don't mind doing a little work for your grade.

Very clear and helpful - always in a good mood. Class material is hard, but he presents it in a very straightforward way. Also, he's always willing to help you after class. At times class can be boring, but, then again, calculus is pretty boring. Definitely recommended if you actually want to learn math.

Spitz is a nice person but his class can be difficult if you have trouble with math. Daily quizzes on the material can either help your grade or bring it down. Homework and Quizzes make up the majority of your grade so you have to work hard and try. He is very approachable if you need help.

Carl rules. I have a degree in math and he is awesome. The whole department is awesome. I had him for Abstract, Fractals and Chaos, etc. He is very intelligent. The whole department is. I miss it there. When you are surrounded by pure intelligence, you can only become smarter. One love. ANDY T.
