He is a wonderful professor. I am happy I took the class getting a grade better than I expected. It is a conceptually difficult class so be ready to work hard.

Despite the fact that the class got switched to online mid-semester, Dr. Sekharan did a great job in providing enough help to keep up with the lessons. This is no easy course by any means but an important one for me. He made the material easily understood, and helped me prepare for job interviews with Google and Facebook.

Awful class. No one ever knew what we were learning and we all worked together to try and do the homeworks because they are so confusing. The midterm is take home but it's almost half your grade. He is not accessible outside class and if you go to his office hours he isn't helpful or understanding at all.

Prof is amazing! I learned quite a bit from this course. Data structures course is important for you to be a serious computer science major.

Not an easy class but any means by Chandra makes it doable. Paying attentions to lectures and note taking is very important. A lot of java programming is required for this class. 2 tests. 1 midterm and 1 final. Homework assignment about once a week. Start homework early.

Professor genuinely cares that students learn well. His problem sets can be challenging but provides a lot of help for students to succeed. If you attend classes and seek help when required, you will get a good grade.

Comment:
His "algorithms" class, if you can call it that, is terrible. You learn close to nothing new if you took a competent data structures class. Plus, his grading is inconsistent and not a reflection of how well you know the material. He stubbornly asserts he is correct in every grading situation. You'd be better off taking MIT OCW algorithms.

Comment:
He seemed like a nice guy. if you can get past his extremely picky grading, it is an easy A class. The material is very easy for an algorithms class. His advanced algorithms class is equivalent to an undergrad data structures class elsewhere. Homeworks are a joke, so it's a pretty useless class!

This is the best math class I have ever taken. Professor was very kind and made things so easy to understand. I took this class despite getting a bad advice that he grades hard. I am happy I took it and I learned a lot.

Prof Sekharan was all over the place. He was not clear with grading criteria, not the friendliest guy, and not helpful at all if you emailed him. Just all around not a good professor. VERY dry as well.

Comment:
Dr. Sekharan explains the topics he covers well, but he barely covered topics one needs to know from an algorithms class and instead focused on things covered from prior class. didn't feel like I got anything out of the class. material is easy but he is an unreasonable grade. your grade wont reflect how well you know the material.

Professor Sekharan is a friendly guy, but his lectures are really confusing and honestly didn't help with the completion of the homework or tests. He takes off a lot of points for very small errors, so it makes it nearly impossible to get an A in his class. When you email him, he tends to respond by emailing the entire class.

Very difficult teacher for computer science. He is very intelligent, but he speaks very quietly, expects students to know their stuff from day 1. Homework can be extremely challenging and they're given weekly, only 2 tests though but those are pretty hard as well. Take him if you want to learn and work your booty off.
