Dr. Carley was nice enough; unfortunately, his lectures weren't very interesting. However, the computer assignments were easy, and review sheets made the tests easy, too. Several times, he wouldn't arrive to give the lecture, though he would usually warn ahead of time. Overall, the class was an easy A.

Comment:

Worst professor on campus, hands down. Doesn't read emails, very little interest in working with students, boring, and doesn't seem to care greatly about his job. I previously has him as an adviser and he was never available. After a few years I needed a class and one of his was available. I still regret taking it, even if it was an easy A.

Great guy. Lots of life experience and stories about the industry. Just don't expect to learn anything from him. You will be teaching yourself everything because he cannot communicate or understand what you're saying. Beware of East Central Comp Sci - this guy teaches just about every course!

His tests were all over the place (stuff we didn't cover). Most were open book & open notes but i never went to class (so I didn't have notes) and didn't buy the book. But I did well on the service learning ppt, paper, and "homework" assignments and got an A. You just have to beat the curve. I should've gotten a B based on possible points.

Most lazy students don't like him, but I do. He wants a person to learn and that means the person has to motivate himself and do for himself. This isn't high school, they don't care if you do your homework, show up or pass the tests because that is on the individual to do. That's what being a grown up means. Whiners expect something for nothing.

This class was so easy the labs were so easy, if you make a 100 on labs you can pass the class with making f's on all the test like i did, i ended up with a B, but it was boring thats y i listened to my ipod during lectures, and he was vey helpful with labs so there was no excuse not making a 100 on labs.

Carley is VERY dry, all business, and pretty geeky. Expect boring lectures. His tests are open book/notes, he's very helpful if you have trouble, and he lets class out early frequently. It's not hard to do well with him, but expect to be bored out of your mind.

One instance: I had two absences in the class, he gave me 8 and I wound up with a D. I retook the class with another and made an A+. This guy is mean, tough, & unhelpful.

This guy sucks. His lectures are completely incoherent and useless. I and my colleagues have to TEACH OURSELVES in his class. He does not explain things well at all. He needs to step down and let another professor teach this class. (And ALL his classes as well.)

He is very, very boring. And he's not very understanding. I hated his class last semester. It should be a very easy class but if you can't stay awake you can't learn, so he makes the class a lot harder than it really is.

Very boreing class. It will make you go to sleep. You will learn nothing and it is just a waste of time to go to class. His labs are stupid unless you want to get a degree in computers. His tells jokes that aren't funny and he dresses very wierd.
