he is a bit too much knowledgable to teach stats. he knows everything very deeply. he should be teaching advanced stats classes. the class is a lil boring. you might want to spend some extra effort to keep your eyelids open. but in general he is very helpful and nice and you learn a lot from him when you pay attention.

This Professor is amazing, hard class but loved the class he is the best Professor at Brooklyn College's Psychology department he curves at the end, gives big big big curve:)

Comment:

Professor Owen is very smart. He just doesn't know how to get through to his students though. I'm no slacker in class and I still had to try extra hard to do well. Take him if you feel like you can take on the workload.

Comment:

Avoid this class. I am by no means a slacker. I get good grades and don't mind a hard class but his class is more boring and tedious than hard. Staying awake is a struggle. The book is old (outdated research), so boring, and long. Final has 100 questions and is based on half (no lie) of the book. Just avoid this class. It's boring and not worth it.

If you are planning on taking this class, be prepared to do a LOT of work for it. The textbook that you have to read is really outdated and does not give you newer research and be prepared to read 800 pages on abnormal psychology this semester. You MUST attend classes if you want to pass! Even though it's super hard, it's EXTREMELY helpful to take.

This class was one of the most exciting psych classes i have taken! I ONLY recommend taking this class if you are very serious about a career in psych. Take Notes in class, lots of it. Read the textbook, and understand it. Very difficult textbook. Exams are extremely difficult, and very tricky. Massive curves on 3 tests, no review, very nice prof!

He's an encyclopedia of psychology researchers and statistics. He's incredible and so nice. But also boring. You HAVE TO READ! A lot!! Exams are mostly from the reading. Highlight, make study guides. You WON'T remember the info from the top of your head. Exams are difficult, but he curves. If you plan to do research, I highly recommend this class.

Professor Owen's course can be extremely dry, dull, and typically put me to sleep. He'll even admit, his tests are very difficult and the amount of information for the course is NOT something you can cram in last minute. That being said, the guy knows his craft very well. Take this course if you are alright with statistics and reading.

Not your average professor, he teaches you to think and analyze. Very hard and somewhat boring, but exceptionally intelligent, loved his lectures. His test are very hard, not the key concepts but every single fact, so be prepared. But if you really in psych and can think, definitely take him.

Prof Owens is intelligent but GOD his extremely boring. I mean its not so much him its the material. Geez theres so many other ways this class could be interesting yet its left flat, dull and brutely interesting. Its just bunch of stats and stories thats like irrelavent. Three exams, not cumulative and curves. Just study and memorize keys things.

Dr. Owen is a brilliant professor with a wealth of knowledge. This class is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. It has kept me up every night making it a rough semester. But he is very helpful and would tutor for hours. In the end you'll realize there's a method to the madness and that the statistical theory is valuable and can be applicable to your own resear

The worst teacher I have ever taken.I dont know what anyone else is talking about he doesnt teach anything and gives an INSANE graduate textbook that is sssooo hard to read and even if you memorize it you cant do well because his tests are impossible.I had a 4.0 gpa untill him. Do yourself a favor dont take him youll kill your GPA!!!!

prof owen knows his stuff. the lesson is boring because he is very soft spoken it makes you pass out. the texts he makes you get are very advanced and you need a dictionary kept handy. long tests and you have to read otherwise you will be lost other than that he is very helpful if you taalk to him. 3 tests including final no papers.

Professor Owen is incredibly demanding, but is also generous, helpful, and very willing to explain anything you don't understand. You have to be willing to work hard, but it's very rewarding; I learned more from this class than any other at BC. Highly recommended.

This is a very difficult class. Heavy reading from a complicated textbook- it takes a while to digest the information. However, if you are rigorous and studious, you will learn ALOT. Very interesting lectures, and a very nice human being.
