Professor Gallehr is very sweet. The class consists of weekly short assignments. Participation matters and you will not pass if you skip class. Show up do the work and you'll pass. Gives you ample time to complete assignments and is an easy grader. Gives you feedback to correct and turn in for full points. If you have to take this class take him!!

Professor Gallehr is very friendly and writes very positive feedback on your writing. Take this class if you want an easy A. ENGH 382 is basically a nonfiction free-writing class where you write a piece each week and then do peer review.

About all we did was produce one nonfiction draft each week, of any subject, genre, or length, and read it to our peer groups. The other day each week was rarely memorable. The professor gave almost no feedback on our work, let alone instruction. Not recommended if you want expert feedback or help honing skills, not just to check off a requirement.

Took him or 382 and 386 (Capstone) Don't listen to the bad reviews. Don Gallehr is one of the most beloved teachers at Mason, and a real darling man. Seriously: just show up, do the one or two assignments per week, and give feedback on your classmates' writing. And you'll get an A. It doesn't get easier. A fine man who I will truly miss.

Workload was light, and the Prof is not the best at communication - but if you ask questions, you will be okay. Lots of room for creativity and trying new things. Nice guy. Did favor girls, but more so guys who were strong writers. Prof is the type to say "great work!" on everything you do, but find your midterm and final you get a B. Ridiculous!

Easy A. Just do the work he gives and turn it in. easy grader. easy reading logs each week. Just write whatever you think is important from the chapter u read (or skimmed thru) in the txtbook. Don't necessary have to buy the txtbook. Just go to the library for 30min and do the reading log, it is that quick and easy. No midterm or final.

Prof Gallehr is kind and caring. He cares about your success as a writer, a student, and a future teacher for those with that purpose. He assigns texts that he believes will help you and you have to take notes on them, but they're simple. He also assigns a lot of writings, but they're simple. I recommend taking him!

Assigns a writing per week due each Monday, and you turn in notes on a reading on Wednesday. He's a really easy grader. The reading he had for our class was pretty pointless, but usually not over 10 pages each week and really easy too. So long as you try, you should be fine.

Really fun class. There are no exams or quizzes. He gives weekly assignments, memo's, letters, business proposals and there is no real deadline. You are able to adjust for a better grade whenever you'd like. Older guy who doesn't use blackboard, very sweet and caring. If you show up to class and turn in assignments you will receive an A.

One of the best professors I've ever had. Super nice. Truly cares about your success as a writer and a student. Easy assignments that I learned a lot from completing. Fun class. Easy to pass as long as you show up and do all the assignments.

Throughout the course there are weekly reading logs, easy. 2 group projects. If you have a good group, then it's easy. No quizzes, no tests. Weekly essays, no deadlines, and at the end of the semester you can perfect the essays to get a better grade. Doesn't have a grading rubric, doesn't give good feedback. All he says is "write more". Nice guy

The class itself is easy, but a lot of busy work for sure. "Learning logs" for each chapter, along with other indv assignments and group projects. He's a nice guy, but he's very strict about attendance, and he'll deduct participation points if you miss class too much. Go to class, do the assignments, and you can get at least a B. Also buy the book

Lots of busy work in this class and group projects. Didn't learn anything at all and the class itself was a total joke- waste of my time and money. I actually regret taking him. The class isn't hard at all, you can def get a B but you need to be in his good graces to get an A.

This class should have been easy A material with the way it was laid out, but it wasn't. He does the holistic grade scale- basically his way of teaching is super old school. I asked him how to improve on my grades and he said "just write better." Super vague and unhelpful. The class itself is pointless, he doesn't teach just lets students goof off.

Don is the man! Relaxed deadlines. Light hearted guy. Doesnt favor girls over guys. I'm a guy and not a liberal and we got along just fine. Just get your work done and he doesnt care if you do other stuff in class. He is specific about details, so check your grammar and punctuation. The book gives details about formatting for assignments, use it.

Had him for business writing. He does not treat everyone the same. Favors girls and liberals. No grading guidelines, completely subjective. Is rude to those he has a different opinion with. Only professor at Mason that I felt had something against certain students on a personal level. Was truly disappointed by his lack of emotional inteligence

One of my favorite professors at GMU by FAR. His classroom teaching style is laid back, attendance is required but the class is easy. Just make sure you write and do the assignments. He is absolutely understanding about missing classes (if they don't seem like bull)He is passionate about writing and teaching and it shows.
