I have received degrees (1 grad and 3 undergrad) from 3 different Universities over the last 10 years and I've seen an increasing trend of lazy students that expect to be spoon fed. This professor is neither too hard nor too easy (the latter being far worse for your education). If you want to learn, take him. If not, please take an easy teacher.

Worst professor I've ever had. Extremely confusing lectures. When working through equations in class, he made mistakes on a majority of them. Frequently pulled up Excel in class to check his work and show us how to work the problem that way, which was pointless because this was Intermediate Business Analysis and had nothing to do with Excel.

Without question the worst professor I've ever had. Today is March 29, and he has not responded to an email or discussion post since March 3. His feedback and assistance had been minimal up until that point. Now it's like he doesn't exist. He hasn't kept up with grading, and the assignment due in 2 days hasn't even been posted. Avoid!

Do not recommend taking Stats with him online. I really disliked that his labs are through R studio. I would recommend taking a face to face class with Dr. Liu

This is the worst professor I've ever had. He claims that his online lectures are consistent with the tests, but they are not. This class has caused me extreme frustration and I would not recommend taking this professor to anyone.

This professor is probably one of the worst ones I have had over the course of my college years. He NEVER responds to email when there is a concern. Classwork is not well put together and tests are difficult. I would not recommend him to other students.

Comment:

Makes a very clear picture when explaining concepts. Is slightly tricky on tests but always goes with the book. Lacks communication on dates of assignments and tests. Never uses blackboard for updates or reminders. Class seems to go by fast. He teaches a chapter a day.

I'll say it this way, I mostly earn A's and sometimes earn a high B. Blackburne changed that for me. He gave me the first C I have ever had in my life. His tests are tricky and do not have anything to do with the lecture. I made all A's this semester....with the exception of his class. Unless you like struggling for your grade, DON'T TAKE HIM!!!

Also he doesnt drop a test anymore. It's just 4 tests thats all your grade consists of.. he gives about 10 points extra credit assignments per exam but thats only because everyone fails...so with that your grade with maybe be a C. He is letting us take the 3rd test online though. thank goodness

DONT DO IT! took him for macroeconomics.. i'm an A,B student and was close to a D in his class. He is very funny and clear when he teaches but never responds to emails and you think you are going to do good till the test is in front of you and you be LOST. He gives back the test so you might be in luck if you know someone who took it prior to you.

If you want to pass this class, take another teacher. I asked help from him in an email and he never replied..and the tutors are useless. Only takes tests as grades and gambles extra credit points so you may not get them. So not worth it! Doesn't give hw to buffer your grade and doesn't drop a test grade. If you don't get Micro, you're screwed.

Blackburne is a wonderful professor! I'm in his class right now and actually changed my major because of him. Best professor I've ever had, BY FAR! If you want to coast, don't take this class. You actually have to work. His tests are pretty difficult, but study what he lectures in class and refer to the book and you'll be fine

Loved his class. He drops 1 test grade, so that's cool. The tests aren't easy, but he explains everything well & gives you a practice test. Plus, he's very easy on the eyes!

Dr. Blackburne is LOUD! You'll have no problem hearing him, and he explains things clearly. He's tough, but fair and he'll take the time to explain things. He also has a great sense of humor. He once tried on a TIGGER costume (From Winnie the Pooh) a fellow student had brought. Just pay attention and study and you'll do well in his class.

The man keeps it interesting but have a thick skin since he makes fun of everyone. He is crazy smart when it comes to economics and statistics but if you ask for help he will give you all that you need. My advice ( only reason i didn't get an A because i didn't do this) DO THE REVIEW ASSIGNMENTS BEFORE THE TESTS since you have to turn them in.

He is very passionate about Economics which made it easier for me to understand the material. If anyone thinks he is too hard, they simply didn't study their handouts. Come on, it's college...you're supposed to work some. I never even bought the book and I still made an A in the course!

I'm an A student and he totally blew my GPA. Was so loud and abstract, that I didn't learn a thing. Even tried to get help from him. Expects you to be a ECON major or MATH major. WAY WAY too hard. Beware!!!!
