Prof Farmer is a great lecturer and is very passionate. Got his PhD from Harvard, and is very knowledgeable about the subject. Funny, friendly, and approachable. Make sure you bring a laptop to lecture if you want good notes- he gives lots of info. If you write well and do cheat sheets for exams, you should do well.

Ted is so funny! But also incredibly, incredibly liberal. Despite being way too easy for a college course, his classes are thought provoking and he offers cheat sheets and a reasonable syllabus.

Great lecturer. Hilarious. Very good if you don't like History or are just starting out. I've already taken lots of social science stuff so I found it overly introductory, but I should have just taken a higher level class. If you take notes, show up to class and discussion and take advantage of his generous cheat sheets it should be a pretty easy A

Professor Farmer was AWESOME. He genuinely cares about what he is teaching and how it will affect his students - I feel like he truly cares about what students can take away from the class before they go into the world. GREAT PROFESSOR!

This is a good history class to take Farmer knows what he's talking about and he doesn't put you to sleep or waste your time. Go to lecture take notes or read your textbook and you will pass but don't make a habit of skipping. I'm an Engineering major and I even like this class.

Funny guys knows how to crack a joke. I'm really bad in history but it seems that with him teaching it, it seems much more manageable. His test are also ALMOST exactly like his mid-terms. Great professor if you're looking for a history class take his.

He is over-the-top hilarious with his comments and slip-ups. He doesn't even care if he didn't know how to use a projector, lol. He's great, and considering I'm a freshman, he made things easy, simply and clear. Thank goodness for Farmer!

Prof. Farmer is, as far as old men go (no offense), is very good at keeping lectures interesting, more or less. He throws the random joke in lecture, and, yes, they're actually funny. He definitely hasn't let his age slow him down. Just pay attention in class and take meticulous notes, preferably with a computer since they go by fast.

Professor Farmer has been my favorite lecturer so far. Gives out a lot of information during lecture, so I'd highly recommend a laptop for taking notes. You're allowed a cheat sheet on all tests, and Farmer is just an extremely wise old man who has much to teach. A+++++

I agree with everyone on here. Although the historical perspective requirement may be a pain for some, this class will make it worth it! Professor Farmer will make the lecture an interesting, enjoyable one. If you take decent notes, you virtually don't need to open the textbook. yay farmer :)

Ed is awesome. He is funny and down-to-earth, and definitely knows what he's talking about. He's spent a lot of time in China and adapts that knowledge to the course. Tests are a combination of ID (easy) and essay (which ask a lot). He previews both and allows "cheat sheets" (which I didn't really need). Hated my discussion section & TA, though.

Professor Farmer was an awesome guy with a passion for history and a fun attitude to go along with it. You recieve a TON of information at lectures so they are a must to attend. Your discussion is also very helpful. Although there is a lot of things to learn, you are given study guides and specifics as to what to study. Good Professor!
