Comment:

Only lab I've taken with two midterms and a final. Labs are 4.5 hours long, and you will be lucky if you even finish. Reports are required to be a minimum of 15 pages unless you want to fail. On top of the lab, there's prelabs, and midterms, so be sure to keep up with those too. Honestly, way too much work for a 3 credit class.

this is an average class. it's the type of class that can easily pile up if you leave it to the last minute. the content is easy enough, just balancing it with everything else can get challenging. he gives you an extra week if not enough people finish the lab.

Good teacher and helps a little bit with the lab. Make sure you prepare code the night before and then you can finish the labs in about an hour. This is key towards the end of the course, do not spend more than 1 week on any lab, because the last will take more than the given time and counts for more then 16% of final grade. (No A if not finished)

Overall a great professor. He willing to take the time to go over the material if additional help is needed. Be prepared to work hard as the final lab requires all course work knowledge gained to complete. Overall a great teacher with best students intrest at heart

The labs were fairly straightforward and not too bad to understand. The lecture part of it is where Hou comes in. He basically goes over everything you need to know for the next lab. Quizzes are straight from the notes/labs, so not too bad.

Comment:

Should do two reviews but I had him for both classes same semester and both classes are run the same way. The TAs for 495 are worthless, but Hou is very straightforward and gives you access to all notes and lectures. His tests are almost right out of the notes and he explains things very clearly providing extra help as needed.

Comment:

His notes and lectures emphasize the most important stuff from the material. Plus, his examples are right on target and he anticipates what a student first approaching the material is thinking. You'll have to stay on top of it but his exams are also exactly what he has covered, just do the work.

Man this guy sucks in advising. I've been advised in three other schools. Nobody worse than him! He feels like you are trying to make his life harder and so he tryes to make yours. I was offered to get advisement this semester, but instead I decided to advise myself. Go to Moreno or Feknous instead!

Does he know how computer works? Sh... What a waste of my money and time. I will get a straight A without learning anything and paying NJIT tons of money for this course. Dr. Hou must teach at HS. Nice but unbelievably weak. Out of touch!

If you like slides you will love this class. He is not a slide teacher, only uses them as an aid. Exams are straight forward . He cursed in class once, hilarious.. He is a nice guy, he gives you a chance just talk to him.
