She is kind of sarcastic which can be interpreted as rude to some people. But she definitely means well. I learned so much about managerial accounting. She really does want you to do well and if you ask for extra help, she will provide it. She got mad at me when I got a B on the midterm.

Horrible professor. Not helpful. Not respectful. Rude. Yells at the class a lot. Is unclear with her explanations. Tests are hard. Makes you feel stupid if you ask a question. Would not recommend. Good luck if you do take her.

good teacher and helpful but if you are not an accounting major it is completely unneccessary for you to take her class. lots of work, hard exams but helpful if you are going to major in accounting. nice lady too

She is a nice lady and the class is easy if you read the chapters. The only thing is you basically have to learn on your own. Also, make sure you do the cases and hand them in. If you dont mind teaching yourself with minimal help from her this is your class. There are 3 tests, all multiple choice which are pretty easy if you read all along

Definitely knows the material & very knowledgeable but cannot teach it. Extremely difficult class. Graded on 3 very painful exams she does not prepare you for at all! She does not teach any lessons you learn from reading the 40 pages each chapter. Homework is excruciating. She expects you to know what she hasnt taught.Turned me away from accounting

Incredible helpful and overall a wonderful woman to learn from. Teaches a lot from experience but she really knows her material well. Would love to go on further in accounting with her. She single handed renewed my faith in accounting and because of her I am an accounting major. A must take. Pay attention to what she says and you'll go far.

If you want to teach yourself, have hours of homework every night, and have class time be dedicated to ONLY going over the homework, take her. Otherwise go with someone who explains the material BEFORE yelling at you for doing the homework wrong. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE.

You are going to self-teach yourself accounting. Its impossible. Douma is very nice and trys to encourage office hours but she never teaches a lesson. She assigns hours of reading upon hours and hours of homework and then goes over it next class but never teaches you a thing so you are very lost. Not recommended at all

Pay attention in class it will benefit you, use the book as go to for information and think out of the box. She brings real time work examples, it will help professionaly. Passing this class is not easy it is a lot of work so devote ur time and you will gain a lot. Read before class dont wait after, read twice and you should be A ok.

Comment:

Not a class where you can breeze through but Dr. Duma is definitely one of a kind. Very down to earth and is not afraid to speak her mind. You have to work for your grade and it's not one of those classes that can be taken lightly. 2 exams, no homework, and a few small cases. Don't even bother memorizing everything in the book. Top notch professor.

One of the best professors of my career. Negative comments are from people who aren't making a serious effort. She is one of the driving reasons I passed the CPA exam first time out.

She really makes u try hard and learn from ur mistakes! She is very nice and cares for her students to make sure we succeed and get something out of the class, the concepts of auditing. Although auditors need to be objective, she kind of isn't (bias/favoritism). Oh well, she is worth taking if u want to learn! M.S.
