So here's the deal about Zahniser. Yes the class is very difficult, and yes her grades are very harsh. If you plan on taking English with her plan everything beforehand. And know that 75% of your grade is based on 4 papers, the final one being 25%. I would only enroll with her if you're an English major looking for heavy criticism.

I worked my butt off in this class and ended up with a B+. If you get three coma splices on a paper it's an automatic C. However, if you attend class regularly, contribute to conversations, and read she tends to grade on a more lenient scale.

She's a very hard teacher because she grades really tough and she has really high expectations of students. I learned a lot in her class and became a much better writer, but I have the Writing Center to thank for that mainly because I went there at least two to three times for every paper. I wouldn't recommend her class, but it is do-able.

If I had to desribe this bitter prof with a phrase, i would say that she is an ICE QUEEN.I am not even sure she has a human heart. Luckily, she liked me so I recieved a B in her class.I overheard a boy express that he was 1 point away from passing her class. She turned to him with an icy glare and said,"close, but not close enough," and walked off.

Horrible. I am an English major, and she told me that I should quit because my writing is not near the quaility it should be for a major. Gave me a C in the class and always accused me of cheating with no proof. I got A's in all my Eng classes after, and graduated w/ honors-As an English major! Boo
