Very good professor that really knows what he's doing, attended two of his physics classes and would take another one. Learning material is decent and carefully chosen.

All grading is done on the quest website. He isn't that great of a teacher, but his tests are fairly easy. They're all based off the homework assigned on quest, so study that and you'll do just fine. The first A I've ever gotten in a science class. The class drags on so take it over the summer!

Gives lots of good study material and easy grades. Very smart, however can over complicate some explanations. Overall, great professor.

He is really smart but his teaching skills are terrible. He overcomplicates material and asking questions rarely helps because he makes it even more confusing. Homework is due every Sunday night, it is online and frustrating. Tests are difficult, you will have to study, they make up most of your grade. Wouldn't recommend his class to anyone

I was honestly a bit scared, after reading the reviews. But Doctor Riley is not hard and a very nice person. I would recommend him. He is funny and will help you if you ask him. This was my first time taking physics, EVER!(It may have been a bit easier for me since I am a math major, but either way, he isn't that bad)

He is smart.. but too smart to teach. He makes the material way harder than it should have been. When i asked for help, he responded "we went over this in class". His test questions are intentionally tricky and dont cover problems that we did in class/on homework.

He is a very smart man, but is not a teacher. His test are very tough. I try to give teachers the benefit of doubt, but what I heard about him was right. He is SUPER hard and I would avoid him if possible. He does have office hours and is happy to help, but still very confusing on his test. He also told me losing my 4.0 b/c of his class is okay. :(

I like Dr. Riley, he is very helpful and always available during his office hours. He is very smart, intelligent, interesting. Never ignore students and is always fair. His tests are very hard, but if you study, you will be fine. You will love him, I promise!

Dr. Riley - his tests are hard, his homeworks are hard, if you pass his class, you are lucky. Take him, and you will never want to take him again even though he is smart, good, and always helpful. I'm sorry if you have to take him...

This is NOT a professor you want to take if you want to pass physics. He is worried about making the fan blow directly on him and will spend 8-10 minutes doing this. When you ask questions about the test he doesn't answer clearly and you leave class confused. What he teaches does not correspond to the homework. RUN RUN RUN!

Professor Riley is the coolest teacher at Upstate. He's really laid back and is open to opinions about test dates and such from students. Also, he offers the chance to exempt the final, so if you work hard it definitely pays off!

Tough, but funny. Tells jokes that he knows are corny just to see if students get them. Cute too, in a nerdy kind of way.

Dr. Riley is a very nice person, but sometimes when he teaches he gets so caught up in exlaining the lab and experiment that it becomes to difficult. However he is more than willing to help! But do not expect to get your lab handouts back the next class, becasue he does not even grade the first one until it is close to the time for lab pratical!

In my class, he got so caught up in explaining how you get the formulas, he didn't explain the formulas themselves very well. I was bored out of my mind, and most of my class just barely passed.
