He has become one of my favorite professors ever!! So interactive during lectures, is very understanding for late work or if you need any extra help, so genuine and overall makes lectures fun with his music and dancing before class! If you need any electives I highly recommend taking this class you will not regret it :)

He was very enthusiastic about what he was talking about but was very boring. It was hard to stay awake. He also did not seem like he had a plan for each day. Class would often end early because he would run out of things to say. Other days he just rambled on the whole time. There was only two tests and a few homework assignments.

Joe is a great guy like as a person, but as a professor he just isnt the best. He does give about 20 points or so XC. But, unless you go home and study the material yourself you will surely be lost. Nobody ever shows up to his class but if you go and study at home like an hour a day then you should not get less than a B.

The class in general is kind of difficult, but if you look at the book and watch videos it makes it easier! As a teacher he tends to not make much sense and his examples aren't very helpful.

Can't speak much for the lectures because I never went. Joe put together one of the best textbooks I have ever read and lists tons of online resources to help on any topic covered. 2 hours of homework over the entire semester and only 2 tests. It's basically the best class you will never go to.

It is boring as hell but if you show up its a super easy A. Its based on 10 homework assignments that take about 10 minutes each and 2 exams. If you go to class occasionally and watch the youtube videos on the syllabus you'll pass.

He talks over videos he plays, that alone is a reason to not take this class with him.

Comment:
Incredibly easy. Lectures are extremely dry and boring, almost hard to listen to because of the way he talks in circles about the most simple topics. He will discuss an obvious point for half of his lecture every day you have class for a week. Knowing he is a very smart man, with a degree in metaphysics I wonder if it is intentional. Guaranteed A.

If you go to class, Joe will give you important information about exams. Your grade is based solely upon three exams, and you can use a 3x5 notecard on them. If you study a couple nights before each exam, you can get an A.

I hated this class it made no sense to me and Joe kind of just rambles on and on and laughs at his jokes that are not usually funny.. there are 3 tests though that are graded and that's it. The homework didn't count for a grade and he gives lots of EC opportunities. Only need to go to class right before the tests and the study sessions are helpful.

he's a nice guy but incredibly hard to listen to. he spends the majority of class talking about the things you are going to learn about but he never really gets to the point. overall very disorganized and off topic. you don't really need to go to class except for the pop quizzes which are super easy and normally about something trivial

Comment:
This class was called, "the mind of god and the book of nature." But it's more like, "God I'm loosing my mind and if I shouldn't have bought the book." I read Harry Potter every time I came to class and I got a B+. Maybe I'm not a philosophical person, but the class was kind of a quack.
