Comment:

MacLaughlin came across as a funny guy, lots of swearing, but his grading seems unfair. The tests he writes are terribly written and he doesn't proofread what he writes in the slightest. He speaks to fast and his classes are almost entirely lecture oriented, hardly pausing for a breath. He's also hard to understand.

I tried so hard to like Fr. McLaughlin as a teacher, but I couldn't do it. He seems like a nice enough guy, but I really loathed going to Christianity especially because his swearing prevented me from respecting him and taking him seriously. His class didn't live up to the course description or my expectations. Easy A, but I didn't learn much.

A lot of people complain about big Joe but I liked his class. It was pretty easy overall and he was hilarious. He may be a priest by profession but he can curse like a ****en sailor, great fun.

This guy is AWESOME! He's funny, upbeat, interesting and keeps the subjects he teaches fun! Great use of different sources and materials and can really engage students into his lessons...Definately take him if you get teh chance... his classes fill up really fast! : )

I have him for irish history (honors) and christianity. He is the cooooooolest guy EVER. I highly recommend any class of his. I'm going to try to take a class of his next semester too.

He is really funny and will often make his points by analogy. Swears in class a lot. He tells you pretty much everything you need to know in class, so you don't really need to do much of the reading if you just show up and pay attention. Plus, he assigned the Da Vinci Code as one of our reading assignments, which is a really awesome book.

'Old school' type of teacher. Funny, amusing, and one heck of a character. His tests are hard, and he won't back away from giving you a D whether you're his favorite or not. Be careful with this class.
