Makes you purchase a 44 page syllabus that she refers to as if it is a person named Traci. Has no idea how to make a PowerPoint let alone present one. Should have retired a LONG time ago. Tests are based only on her opinion and have nothing to do with the material. Worst professor I have ever had in my entire life.

Comment:

Overall, I liked her. She's full of knowledge, considerate, and approachable. However, this class is TOUGH. I got a D on the first test, but managed to get an A in the class. She offers LOTS of extra credit, but you NEED to do the work: go to class, take notes, participate, study notes, review slides, & read the text. 5 or so tests and 1 essay.

She gave little help. Although she is very passionate she does not know how to answer questions and gives you the run around when she answers. She also says things that can be interpreted badly.

Her lectures are out of date particularly in regards to gender, gender roles, and sexuality. I felt alienated by here narrow minded lectures. It is difficult to know how you are doing in the class. The tests are extremely difficult and largely based on her opinion of the subject which may or may no be correct. Don't take this class!

Her grading is unreal. You have a quiz everyday that you have to read for. Even with reading though, you will probably get a B unless you really studied the material. She is very unclear with what she is looking for and you have to read her mind to know exactly what she wants. If you cannot read her mind, expect to do poorly. It's a tough class.

Please refrain from taking this course with this professor. Endless hours of studying got me grades I am far from pleased with. Still very confused with how this particular section was only a 100 level class, because it was much more difficult. Do not take at all costs, as it dropped my gpa enough to lose scholarships. Please, just don't.

This professor was really boring she tried to make class interesting but I was never captured by what she had to say. I felt her test were impossible, I never had any idea what would be on the test. Her group project was half my grade so if you don't do good on that then you will fail. I don't recommend taking this class unless you have to.

Avoid, avoid, avoid. She is a very sweet and kind woman but it is a horrendous class. She is far from tech savvy so powerpoints and therefore lecture is a bore, the tests expect you to have a in-depth understanding of material that is hardly touched on. JUST AVOID. Useless class.

She can be interesting at times, but honestly, you have to be able to read her mind in order to understand everything she wants. She has a very long syllabus that you have to pay for and it seems that is everything she wants, but she has a quality meter in her head that you will never truly understand. If you screw up the project, you are screwed.

The Group project grade is based on everyone in the groups grades. not just your individual grade. I got an A on my part but since the others got Bs and Cs we got a C overall. Her lectures are very interesting and worthwhile BUT her test are VERY HARD. if you are a horrible multiple test taker don't take this class. I ended up dropping the course.

To be honest, I really liked Misale. She was interesting, graded quite easily on the group project, and really made you learn. You had to read the entire text book and keep up and study, but that's why I can remember almost everything from her course. She definitely has 'a fire under her butt', but she is a very good professor.

Comment:

Misale is very lighthearted and fun. She works very hard to make class interesting by using various examples and different types of media. She tries to help relate everything back to you. The material is hard, and she covers a lot. Ask questions and READ THE MATERIAL and you should do well. She gives you lots of chances for a good grade. Very nice!

She really is not as bad as everyone on here says. She is very nice and fun to listen to. I think that since she came back from retirement her tests are easier. They are all multiple choice and she gave us the opportunity to throw the grade out if we did better on the next one. If you do good on the group project you will do fine. Do the reading.

Her tests are absolutely absurd. If you miss more than 3 classes, you're screwed. She is strict about weird things. Her 40 page syllabus makes her seem NUTS. That being sad, she's not THAT bad. Her lectures are semi-interesting, and if you do REALLY well on the group project you will be okay; it counts for a lot. I got by with a B because of it.

She is hard, she keeps referring to Donna like it is a real person, not a book she wrote for the class. I rather think she is crazy and needs to stop teaching. Got in trouble for something I later found out I did right. Do not take her!!!!

DO NOT TAKE AT ALL COSTS! With that said, Misale is VERY nice, and teaches a relatively interesting class. However the tests are out of this world hard. She bases the information on what she thinks you will miss in the reading or lecture. TOUGH grader on projects and the one worksheet. WORK HARD on your group project..it can save your grade.

Misale is tough but really prepares students to become psych majors. Don't take her for an easy A, it certainly takes a lot of work, but it was a good experience.
