DO NOT TAKE HER!! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! She is VERY unorganized and all she does is puts you in breakout rooms to work on problems that she doesn't even explain how to do. She expects you to understand what she's teaching, even though she doesn't teach it well. Find a better teacher y'all! This class with this professor will be a waste of time.

This was a stressful class. It was even more stressful because the professor's way of teaching was not very clear, and she would often become confused when teaching us the concepts, this made it frustrating for the class. Unfortunately, she was also not very friendly and would become impatient with some of the students when they would ask questions

This professor is test heavy and your grade depends on how well of a test taker you are. Professor is not good at teaching the concepts so therefore you have to look up videos online. I would not take her again. Do not take.

do not take this class if you want to actually learn. teacher will hardly go into details of what you need to know, expects you to already know material needed to learn new subjects. does not like answering questions. she is easily confused,cannot teach any examples not from the book where the work is already done for her even though shes a phd.

I would not take this professor again. 80% of the class is test based and 20% is online homework which is pointless. In class, she just flips over pages and does not teach. She does not like us to ask questions and it is extremely hard to do well in this class. I have always had straight A's so if you are thinking about taking her, don't.

Doesn't take roll. Doesn't like to answer questions in class. Expects that you already have the info and will not reteach it. She strongly encourages you to go to her office hours for help. Goes by vague notes on the projector, and makes mistakes. 60% of your grade is the tests. Cumulative final, and no notes allowed.

I did not like the way she taught her lessons. She throws notes on the projector that are impossible to read but her tests are not impossible. STUDY STUDY. I found youtube being my best friend. Go to class and pay attention. Its not impossible but she is not the most helpful. She is weird about asking for help in class.

She's a sweet professor but sometimes made mistakes while teaching which made her lectures confusing at times. However, all the homework and in-class worksheets made sure you learned the material and could do it in your sleep. One project, two midterms, one final. Very doable class.

Easy class if you study, most of the tests are based on how you got the answer by writing it down by steps. I took the time to stay back and try to get help because there were certain things I did not understand , she was very helpful and direct on the help.

Comment:

Prof gives good examples that students can use in their own classrooms when they begin to teach. You write a 2page paper every week, based on reading articles about teaching K-5 math. Sliva's tests are fair and so is her grading. Group project is easy. Attend class, take notes, and don't be late (she locks the door). Homework is not graded).

Comment:

Nice teacher, I enjoyed her class. Teacher grades fairly and is a gives good tips for students who plan to teach elementary ed. If you do your homework and keep up with the reading you will do well. Don't bother taking her class if you to slack on homework or the writing assignments.

This teacher is the worst math teacher of all, and she treats students unfairly, she seriously needs to be fired from the school. Her techniques are just awful. She needs to use incorporate board games in her lectures and teaching methods.

She is snobby ****? Unconcern about her students' grades. You can never complain about a test score to her, even if you got the right answer, she'll brush you off to the side. She also refuses to add new students in, even though there are hella spaces
